Another broken bubble splash I had in my files. This is for Bozy who liked the last one so much and one day will learn to make great splashes.
Everything about this flower impresses me. The detail, color, geometry, etc. is so naturally impressive.
"Gunnera manicata, or giant rhubarb, a native to South America from Colombia to Brazil, is a species of flowering plant in the Gunneraceae family. It is a large, clump-forming herbaceous perennial growing to 2.5 m tall by 4 m or more." Wikipedia.
We have them here in Vancouver also. I always marvel at their beautiful huge leaves and love how they look with the sun filtering through them. We also call them Texas Rhubarb...I suppose because of there size.

Trying something different tonight. Dropping cream into water.
Yes, there definitely is something jellyfishy about this.
I shot this many times with several different water patterns and light directions. The end result is so busy it's almost uncomfortable to look at at.
The Odd One - Macro Mondays
This photo took a bit of adjusting and rethinking..... eventually there was only a hint of what was odd
For all those who commented and faved my water splashes. It means a lot to me. I'm very proud of this one. It may be my favorite so far.
For this I used a black cast iron pan with water to get the black background. Speedlite 430 EX ll set to lowest power and aimed directly at the drop (about 2 inches away) to illuminate only the drop. Food coloring with a bit of milk in the eyedropper.
Exposure at 1/200
Aperture f16
ISO - 200
Explore FP - July 31 - thanks for your support.
In this one, I wasn't fast enough to get the colour from the manual flash. This is the second drop in the tank and is lit by a flash from the top with a blue gel and one on the left front with a red gel. White cream was used for the liquid.
A mind of it's own. Speedlite 430 EXll from the rear behind frosted glass and a Speedlite 580 EXll with a red gel from the right, both at 1/64th power. I was trying to get it to fall to the front like this. You get some neat splashes this way.
