Hairs are standing up from fear. Backlit flower from the back. Low light in the front, Intense light in the back, and a slow shutter.
I thought the centre of this splash was pretty cool and symmetrical with some very neat colour combinations going on. These are the actual colours of the splash. There is red food dye in the drop and a blue gel on one flash and red and yellow gels on the other flash gun. The actual splash is in the comments. This is quite a close crop. I'm ashamed that I did this splash a couple of months ago and only now noticed the details up close.

... Aaaand here's the last one... for the moment :)
Chaos. In a dead straight time.
Seven dandelion seeds standing in a water-filled black baking sheet. A few seeds were sprayed with water and blue food coloring, the outer ones got a single red droplet.
I hope you enjoyed my little series!

I am always excited when I get a progression of color through the flower. Here the petals are a less saturated gold leading out to the very gold anthers. Thanks for looking.
A water drop photography guide on DIY Photography today.
Thank you everyone for your interest and your views and comments. It means a lot to me and has helped to keep me going. I have been greatly inspired by a lot of great photography on Flickr and hope I have given a bit of it back.
Cream dropped into a small aquarium. A blue gel on a flash above the drop, a red gel on a flash from the left front corner and the manual flash with a greenish gel from the right front corner to catch the flow of the cream under the water surface. All the Speedlites are set to 1/64.
Water with red food dye and a bit of cream dropped into blue water. Flashes from the front and the left with a blue plastic sheet behind the pan. I couldn't quite get that top splash with these.
Have a great weekend !
Another broken bubble splash I had in my files. This is for Bozy who liked the last one so much and one day will learn to make great splashes.
Everything about this flower impresses me. The detail, color, geometry, etc. is so naturally impressive.
"Gunnera manicata, or giant rhubarb, a native to South America from Colombia to Brazil, is a species of flowering plant in the Gunneraceae family. It is a large, clump-forming herbaceous perennial growing to 2.5 m tall by 4 m or more." Wikipedia.
We have them here in Vancouver also. I always marvel at their beautiful huge leaves and love how they look with the sun filtering through them. We also call them Texas Rhubarb...I suppose because of there size.
