An image from up on Chrome Hill in Derbyshire, a great vantage point looking over to Parkhouse Hill and the Upper Dove Valley as the morning light briefly breaks through the clouds.
Wonder what the view would have been like up on top of Parkhouse Hill :)

Taken for the Macro Mondays theme of 4/14/2025: KNOB.
Let's enjoy the little things, such as a lovely Autumnal sunset.

Lessinia mountain zone (Monte Baldo chain in the background) 20231011
Isolated between the Adige Valley and Valdagno, Lessinia is not crossed by major roads and is little known. It is an area that rises gradually from the Veronese plain to the almost two thousand meters of the Lessini Mountains, which border it to the north.
It thus presents a great variety of landscapes, from the plain where the Adige flows lazily, to the intensely cultivated hills of Valpolicella (famous for its excellent wine), to the mountains with alpine pastures and forests of beech and fir.
Second Valley
South Australia
Wet and wild down at Second Valley last month as I got soaked through despite wearing waterproofs all round - the camera was well protected which allowed me to remain in the same spot to take a bunch of images without changing composition from retreating!
Both parties appeared to be zoned out on their phones instead of taking in this magical moment of twilight
Atmospheric
This abstract of fall colors is a little out of my comfort zone but I liked the vibrancy of the nearby trees and sky reflected in the water.

Macro Monday rhyming with stone .
I thought I would use a bathroom scale to show 1 stone as in weight hope it’s accepted ! Well it rhymes 😉 HMM folks have a great Monday .
Took a detour off the path for a short cut through this forest , nothing much growing here with the lack of light.
However it made walking the last 1/2 mile over bare moor easier..

Marine iguana (Amblyrhynchus cristatus) - Santiago island, Galapagos National Park, Ecuador
Seeing these majestic lizards lounge on the lava was one thing, seeing them moving through the water and along the waters edge getting washed over by waves was something else! I really enjoyed photograhing this marine iguana who had picked a perch that was out of the reach of most waves, but occasionally a bigger swell would come in and soak the lizard whose only reaction was to close his eyes before the water hit. These iguanas are certainly no stranger to water, they are the only marine iguanas and their diet is entirely made up of algae that grows both in the splash zone and even underwater, where these lizards will dive down to in order to feed.
Melbourne is going into Stage 3 restrictions and lock down for another 6 weeks following surges in community transmission of COVID-19 in various suburbs.
It's Australia's hot zone and many people will suffer from loss of jobs, loss of freedom and increase in fear. Here's hoping this lock down works!
Take care everyone and hold on to hope.
