“Abraham," he said. "I'm pleased to see you alive, old friend."
"And I to see you dead.”
―(Seth Grahame-Smith: Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter)―
My rubber-dead-Zombie-head has been forced to distance socially in a world filled with living, breathing humanoids.
My first figbarf! I don't usually post figs, but I put these guys together while watching "Walking Dead".
I don't know how to make notes anymore, so left to right you have the dog, the pensive strategist, the babe who's an expert with katanas for some reason, the former survivalist nerd, the ex-bouncer and the soldier who's the last survivor of his unit.
Everyone needs one gun, preferably suppressed, and one non ammo-dependent weapon. Everybody carries a pack except the katana babe, who just subsists on raw bunnies, for some reason.
Also, you totally need a dog. I don't know why any zombie-surviving groups try to do without a dog.
Eventually a love triangle develops among the bouncer, the survivalist and katana babe. The soldier and the strategist fall for one another, but then he gets bit while in the act of rescuing the dog, and the strategist has to machete his head off before he turns.
Wow, I've got the whole first story arc planned out, if I weren't so lazy I would turn this into a Lego webcomic. Oh well...
Camponotus castaneus infected with Ophiocordyceps kimflemingiae
This Ophiocordyceps sp. is one of 15 newly described in the recent paper, "Zombie-ant fungi across continents: 15 new species and new combinations within Ophiocordyceps. I. Myrmecophilous hirsutelloid species", by João Araújo, David Hughes, Harry Evans and Ryan Kepler.
Also, the biological clock of this species has recently been studied by Charissa de Bekker and co-authors.
I was given the opportunity to document the zombie ants here in South Carolina when David Hughes visited in late 2009 after seeing a few of my pictures here on Flickr. It's been great working with David, Charissa, João, Raquel Lareto and others over the years. I was really surprised and honored when I found out they planned to name the fungus after me. I really can't think of anything more cool to have as a namesake!

Thanks to my baka-zombie idol troupe, I shall save Saga!!!
From left to right, meet Lily-chan, Tatsumi "necroducer" Koutarou and Legendary Yamada Tae!
All of them are characters from Zombie Land Saga, my favourite anime of 2018, and the true dark horse of this season.
The ending was pretty open, yet satisfying enough. Sakura is much more luckier than she thinks!
Let's hope it translates in a new season for 2019!
As you most surely known, they are build in MikeVd's super-cute chibi Style. Credits to him! :-)
This routine was a bit of a show-stopper at my granddaughter's dance recital. Naturally, pictures of Danica will follow in due course, but I couldn't resist posting this. Aptly enough, the routine was titled Halloween.

Is this where the Zombies are gathering for the apocalypse? Have I found their secret lair? Is this a warning? It won't stop me.
The Manunka Chunk Tunnels in western NJ were part of the Lackawanna Railroad's original route through NJ. The main line was used for about 50 years until the "Old Road" was bypassed in 1911 when the Lackawanna opened it's famous "Lackawanna Cutoff" through western NJ eliminating the grades, tight curves, and two problematic tunnels (of which this was one) on the original route.
These tunnels were opened around 1860, the left one first, and it quickly became evident these tunnels were going to become issues for the railroad. Between collapses, flooding, space restrictions with more modern equipment, and speed limitations, the tunnels became a real bottleneck for the railroad.
Track in the right tunnel was removed in the 1940s, and the left tunnel still saw occasional use right up until the Erie-Lackawanna merger in the early 1960s.
Today, the tunnels are a flooded relic of their former days with multiple collapses inside them. Tracks can still be found inside the left tunnel as they are permanently sealed in place by several ceiling collapses.
Let's take a look inside and see if we can find any Zombies.
As this photo shows the Zombie Virus is real despite denials from the Centers for Disease Control and NIH. Beware YOU could be the next victim!!!! OR, perhaps it's peppercorns with a bit of Fractalius fun. We may never know... For Macro Mondays Group -- topic, Halloween
This is my first ever zombie scene and I feel that it worked out really well but I don't think I will be doing another one. I hope you enjoy this scene.
The stroy about this scene is that in the apocalypse the military has been comprimised leaving only the resistance, the only remaining mercenary team has fallen back to their last stand where they have lost half of there workforce and the battle is almost won, but the casualties have been severe and there supplies are running thing ad they can't last much longer.
The Zombie Photoshop Workshop went very well. We had lots of fun shooting photo's and editing them. a few results are in the comments.
My make up artist friend, Andrea, and her at the time boyfriend, Justin, and I decided to do a zombie themed shoot. Originally it was just going to be like a portrait of a zombie, but then we decided to do this. A 16 zombie chase scene. Add in our pin up esque friend Kelsea, my now fiance and love of my life Tammi, a post to friends to come in your best zombie make up and be in the back of the photos, 3 hours of professional makeup, and 200 frames later, and this is what you get.
We are now going to use this photo, as it gained some notoriety in our area, as a promotional material to do another one. Only this time, make it HUGE. 100's of people, shut down a street, and just do it up.
Strobist Info*

Work is not only the only way to earn an honest living, for many it is the best social training there is.

We were lucky to witness Prague Zombie Walk. Participants dressed and acted like zombies, walking around Prague's City Center.
Police continue to question arrested Blacktron Zombies to no result. The Zombies' attorney, Saul Goodman, explains that his clients suffer from multi-dimensional reality disorder (or MDRD) and thus are unaccountable for their human flesh eating activities.

In a recent study conducted by the few remaining scientists there was a shocking discovery that with a dwindling food supply Zombies have found a way to reproduce and are now having Zombie Babies.
One scientist was quoted as saying "The dead have broken free, expanded to new territories and crashed through barriers, painfully, maybe even dangerously, but, uh... well, there it is."
