猴年除夕，高雄美濃地震，南台灣正在拆倒塌大樓救人。台北市長柯P （2016/2/7）也在進行拆除 台北市北門上有34年歷史的忠孝橋引道，這也是北市現存最後一座「跨鐵路橋」，忠孝橋引道原名忠孝西路高架道路，在1982年完工，興建目的是為了解決鐵路地下化前，路口平交道造成交通停滯的瓶頸。
台北市府工務局新建工程處指出，隨著鐵路地下化後，高架道路功能降低，反而妨礙都市景觀與北門歷史意象；中正忠孝橋引橋拆除及周邊平面道路路型改善工程完工後，將提升都市景觀，創造開放空間，重現北門地景意象。

Anti-nuclear power protesters yesterday staged a massive demonstration in Taipei, parading from Ketagalan Boulevard to Zhongxiao W. Rd., while Kuomintang officials reached a consensus to halt construction of the Fourth Nuclear Power Plant with immediate effect.
Thousands of protesters staged a sit-down demonstration along Ketagalan Boulevard in front of the Presidential Office demanding the government immediately terminate the Fourth Nuclear Power Plant project. Protesters started gathering for the rally on Ketegalan Boulevard at about 4 p.m. and a sudden downpour half an hour later did not deter them from staying on.
The ministry said that if Nuke 4 fails to begin commercial operations by the summer of 2016, Taiwan may face power shortages. However, because of safety concerns, it said, there is no timetable for loading the fuel rods.
The authorities have been on high alert monitoring demonstrations since the Sunflower Movement, which saw students occupy the Legislature for about three weeks and storm the government headquarters.

A view of the intersection of Zhongshan S. Road (中山南路) and Zhongxiao East Road (忠孝東路), in the aftermath of the forceful police clearing of the ROC Executive Yuan (行政院). Just twelve hours prior, water cannons and riot police cleared the intersection of protestors, resulting in hundreds of injuries and dozens of arrests. All is back to normal, for now.
NT$130/US$4.00. Minced tuna with scallions over rice. The tuna was low-grade and scant, the scallions were even lower grade and also scant, just a very poorly put-together version of this simple-yet-fine Japanese dish.
I know, what did I expect for 4 bux?

「全國廢核行動平台」發起反核四活動今(26)日下午在凱道展開，主持人宣稱將持續佔領凱道靜坐直到 政府立即廢除核四為止。
國民黨立院黨團決議「核四完工，通過安檢後，不放置燃料棒，核四未來是否運轉必須經公投決定」，宣告核四若是要運轉，也必須經「完工、安檢、公投」三要件。但安檢何時完成，時間可短可久，此決議也為核四未來留下伏筆。
73歲高齡的民進黨前主席林義雄為「廢核家園」-反核四禁食，今(4.26)日進入第五天。
台電公司今天表示，「廢核四」形同宣告破產，核四總預算為新台幣2838億元，目前已執行2700多億元，尚未列入公司財務報表，如加計至民國102年底累積虧損2084億元，將超過其資本額3300億元，台電馬上要面對公司法第211條「公司資產顯有不足扺償其負債時，董事會應即聲請宣告破產」的危機。
「全國廢核行動平台」發起反核四活動今(26)日下午在凱道展開，下午下起傾盆大雨。數千人於凱道上靜坐，表達反核訴求，除了主舞台陸續由學界、NGO團體代表、歌手上台發言、演唱歌曲，在景福門四週的帳篷也各自進行議題討論、紀錄片播放等活動，讓民眾可以針對核能議題發聲討論，晚上的「全民守護廢核決心」靜坐活動也將持續徹夜靜坐。

FROM TAIPEI TO JIOUFEN:
From Taipei - Zhongxiao-Fuxing Stnt, No. 1 Exit, take Keelung bus to Jioufen. Get off just before 7/11.
FROM KEELUNG TO JIOUFEN:
- Board Keelung bus from Keelung bus stop (Jinguashih Line) to Jioufen (About 50min, NT$45)
- Buses have English bus signs & Chinese LED but no bus number. Will bypass Rueifang Train Stnt - Alight at bus stop along Jioufen Old Street (Chishan Street) stop just before Seven-Eleven convenience store.
FROM JIOUFEN TO TAIPEI :
- Take Keelung bus from Jioufen bus stop (near police post) to Rueifang train / railway station 瑞芳 Jui-fang 089 (About 15min)
- Take train to Taipei Main Station (About 40-50min, NT$80)
Alternative:
- Take bus to Keelung (about 50min)
- take train to Taipei Main Station (About 50-60min; approx. NT$66 depending on train type)
We visited Yehliou Geo-Park followed by Keelung before heading to Jioufen Old Street (see the other 2 sets).
Finally, we took the bus which took us back to Taipei Bus Terminal. I followed my original plan to shop at Shin Kong Mitsukoshi Dept Store (near Taipei Main Station)
However, I eventually gave HUAYIN ST. SHOPPING AREA a pass as I was really tired by then. Furthermore, the early enthusiasm to shop for wholesale craft materials had died off even before the trip as my attempt to sell my crafts online did not fall through :( after a lot a lot a lot a lot of hard work, money & time were exhausted.
Thanks to Monica's recommendation, shopping was Shin Kong was a delight. I bought some quality stuffs there with some discount. While the prices are steeper, I could shop in comfort at leisurely pace. I got praises for the bronze metallic bag & little blue velvet coat bought there.
After a few purchases at Shin Kong also asked for direction to walk back to Ximending, thinking it was only a stop away. Wrong decision. I ended up getting lost in the rain along the dark streets after getting quite a few wrong directions by well-intended locals.
My origin al plan after visiting Yehliou, Keelung & Jioufen:

this fireworks show was taken place along Danshui river on 2008/8/2 to welcome the upcoming Chinese Valentines Day (July 7 in lunar calendar).
"Featuring spectacular fireworks and musical performances, this year’s Dadaocheng Fireworks Festival attracted nearly 590,000 visitors, according to Taipei City Government. The event was held at Dadaocheng wharf on August 2...
The firework show began at 8:30 p.m. with a "waterfall" along the Zhongxiao Bridge and "My Heart Will Go On" playing in the background. The display of pyrotechnic entertained the spectators on both side of the river. The 30-minute show mesmerized the audience with a dazzling array of both high altitude and low altitude fireworks. "

Just after I sold my X100, I found that it does pretty nice photos especially at night. I just wish it does its 'bokeh' better but with a 35 F2 on APSC, I think I am just expecting too much.
The X-Pro 1 may solve this 'problem'
