It's been a few years since my last upload here on Flickr. On this years vacation I went to the UK by train and took my camera gear with me. I upgraded to a Z6ii and bought a Nikkor 40 mm F2 and a Viltrox 16 mm F1.8 a week ago. Besides that I just have my Nikkor 85 mm F1.8 with me, so als the lenses are prime lenses. I'm very happy with the new lenses and want to show the "London part" of my trip with a selection of the photographs I liked most while editing.
By the way I cancelled my Adobe subscription and after a few months without a proper Software I tried On1 Photo Raw. After a few hours of getting used to it I really like working with it.
If anyone needs pictures of Venetian side canals with bridges and parked boats (and washing hanging out to dry) I now have dozens of them... :-)
Engineer and Manger of the UP Steam Program, Ed dickens, is at the helm of the 4014, and bringing them downgrade on the Huey P Long bridge. This is the link from west to east over the Mississippi River near Metairie, LA, and Nola. It has the distinction of being the longest railroad bridge in the world, and when Big Boy went over it was hosting the largest operating steam engine in the world. It's been since 1984 that Union Pacific steam visited the Big Easy, and most likely it will be a similar timeframe before it does again. Glad I was able to capture it with some friends!
Thanks for looking and enjoy!

A historical water tower, illuminated in vibrant orange, stands out against a dramatically clouded sky at the twilight's onset, creating an evocative and almost otherworldly atmosphere.
