My sixth and final MOC for RebelLUG's Vignweek contest, the prompt for today being "Contrasting Reflections". As soon as I read the prompt, I knew exactly what I'd be building. No need to sit around for hours seeking inspiration this time 😅 I think we've successfully compensated for my day 3 failure
Unfortunately, sacrifices were made for this MOC and a great deal of my day 5 vignette was needed to make this one. But I may still go back to it, who knows.
A week ago, I couldn't have imagined getting tired of making MOCs. However, having spent these last 7 days building non-stop Lego in my free time, I can safely say that even teenagers with little to no social life have a breaking point. For the first time in a long, long time (possibly since the last time I participated in Vignweek, which was 3 years ago), I am completely BURNT OUT. I need a little Lego vacation before I take on any next projects, where I can just sit around and be lazy. But don't fret, eventually I'll get bored with boredom, and I'll get back to building. New Hashima cubes don't construct themselves, after all.
During Vignweek, contestants have 24 hours to make a small MOC and share it online each day for 7 days. At the end of the week, the FOL with the most impressive repertoire wins

『君の名は。』のあのタイムラプスの場所。
いろいろ聖地巡礼の写真を見た結果、歩道から撮れるものではないと判断して車で通ったときに撮りました。第2or第3車線から撮ればまんまあのアングルになると思われます。
そして結構広角。普段使わないワイコンを持って行って正解でした。
鹿児島住まいの私にとってはThe 都会で、まさに「東京やぁ〜」と言いたくなる場所でした。

'Your Name' poster, this was built in about 5 days and is 30in x 45in. This is the first mosaic I have built. It was designed by hand while looking at the reference photo. Based off of the 2016 movie 君の名は。by director Makoto Shinkai.

君の名は。 "Your Name" is a 2016 Japanese animated youth fantasy film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai. I love this film very much and build the touching scene :
It is a love story between Mitsuha, who lives in a village Itomori went to school , and Taki, who lives and worked in Tokyo. They got the dream and started switching their bodies randomly in their dream. Mitsuha was a school girl and worked in Tokyo in Taki’s body. Taki went to school in Mitsuha’s body. They realizes it is real and they statrted to love and try remember each other. But Taki found that Mitsuha died. He found that she died in Itomori village destroyed by the comet three years ago. He try to dream again to save her , she safe finally but they cannot remember the name each other.

This was a lovely set of doors which were an entry to a hutong that Pamhule took me to in Beijing.
I closed the doors so I could take this shot and very much surprised a resident who was returning home and opened the doors to find me pointing a camera at an empty box of drink containers I had moved from a neatly stacked pile just so I could get a better angle of them.
I love the detail on this door, and am fascinated by both the makeshift peephole and the two iron handles on either side that I presume used to hold a nice big piece of wood to keep people out.
On the scene I can’t recall noticing the writing on the door, so if anyone knows what it says on the right hand frame please do let me know.
In other news, it may be of interest to some of you to learn that the .photography TLD has now been released and is open for anyone to register. Over the next year we’re going to see a lot of these being released, ranging from brand owned ones such as .canon, .nikon & .flickr, geo locations such as .london & .newyork, and indeed others such as this one, .photos, .beer and .ninja. Over time it’ll be interesting to see what happens to the likes of .com or country codes such as .uk.
Though hundreds of these are going to be released, .photography is the first to have interested me. Visiting murphyz.photography will redirect to my photography site at this stage, but at some point in the future I can see me moving to that domain rather than using the .co.uk. Likewise there is great potential for making something out of hdr.photography or learn.photography and a few others that I have registered.
These are interesting times.
So, for those of you out there who have your own domains, and especially those who have ‘yournamephotography.com’ or ‘yournamephotos’.com – are you going to stick with a .com or simply get ‘yourname.photography’?
I see some savvy companies have already gone ahead and secured their names, such as Smugmug securing smugmug.photography; whereas some others appear to have missed out – i.e 500px where the domain name 500px.photography already appears to be taken by a 3rd party.
Now is a great time to get them if you see the need.
