It's fascinating, I've visited this staircase several times. This is a picture from the first visit over 4 years ago.
Today, without remembering that I had already selected the picture back then to edit it, without knowing it, I selected it a second time.
When I had finished editing it, I found this old, finished edition from back then. I liked the picture and frame of the old picture better.
Nevertheless, I then tried to bring the reworking in the same direction and then also took over the old framework.
If the second attempt is as good as the first, or if the images are similar in quality, I don't know. In any case I find that they are very different despite all the similarity ... and therefore brought them both ...
4 years ago I decided to publish the photo upside down ...
this time I decided to take the original alignment ...

Fat Freddies Drop new years eve party just next to Petone beach. A great concert that was very much enjoyed. You just can't beat outdoor summer concerts on lovely hot evenings.
Scan from the film picture.
Our street runs into this green field, where we walked our previous dog, who lived for 14 years (he is in the picture as a 6 month old puppy with me), and then the second dog, who is now 12.5 years old.
Thank you all for visits, favs and comments, it's greatly appreciated!
1500 years ago, everybody "knew" that the earth was the center of the universe. 500 years ago, everybody "knew" that the earth was flat. And 15 minutes ago, you "knew" that humans were alone on this planet. Imagine what you'll "know" tomorrow.
What a trip it has been. On May 7th, 2008 I came onto the grid with no clue what was in store for myself. Here I am 15 years tomorrow having loved and lost. But I still love the crazy life that it is.
Well, another year comes to an end. Not quite the year I had hoped for after the lifting of COVID restrictions, but it has had some highlights, a trip to Skye being one of them and a trip to Cornwall later in the year being another. The problem with these type of trips though, is that they seem to make it harder to get enthusiastic about the less dramatic locations closer to home. Although this image shows what can be achieved more locally.
We have struggled to get out as much this year as we had hoped, possibly due to a large dose of CBA, hopefully 2023 will be better
Wishing you all a happy new year
Sedge Warbler:-
The sedge warbler is a small, quite plump, warbler with a striking broad creamy stripe above its eye and greyish brown legs. It is brown above with blackish streaks and creamy white underneath.
It is a summer visitor, and winters in Africa, south of the Sahara Desert. Its song is a noisy, rambling warble compared to the more rhythmic song of the reed warbler.

Thousands of years ago ...
He lay ...
but not sleep dear ..
His face is staring ...
and his frozen smile as if to say ...
"we are at war ...
we're fighting against the sun ...
For proof that we once existed ... and are on this earth ... "
It's been thousands of years ...
he is lying ..
but not sleep dear ..
a hole in his chest was still burning, like his spirit ...
His face is staring at the sky ...
and his frozen smile seemed to say
"I'm still so young ..."
That day is a day without a hero ...
a day that no one can help him ...
and he made a story
for this world ...

This very old tree sits proudly on my front lawn... it was there when we bought our house 30+ years ago.... so it's old and showing it's age... but thankfully after a cut back last year, it still is gifting us with blossoms.
Heart beats fast
Colors and promises
How to be brave?
How can I love when I'm afraid to fall?
But watching you stand alone,
All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow.
One step closer
I have died every day waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
Time stands still
Beauty in all she is
I will be brave
I will not let anything take away
What's standing in front of me
Every breath
Every hour has come to this
One step closer
I have died every day waiting for you
Darling, don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
One step closer
One step closer
I have died every day waiting for you
Darling don't be afraid I have loved you
For a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more
And all along I believed I would find you
Time has brought your heart to me
I have loved you for a thousand years
I'll love you for a thousand more

P.S. This was our view from the master bedroom at the Prowhouse on a rainy day.

A few years ago there was a article about this dog who could balance things on it's head. The main picture was it balancing Digestive biscuits. I think it had a stack of 12. I just said to myself I bet Asha could beat that as she has always balanced things on her head since a little pup. So out came the Digestives. I managed 14. I'm sure I could even have beat that target but I ran out of Digestive biscuits (only had the one pack minus some I ate..lol). As you can see Asha had a few wee mishaps with them...lol. I must get another packet of Digestive Biscuits and try and beat 14...Watch this space!
Revelation 20:1-3
New International Version
The Thousand Years
20 And I saw an angel coming down out of heaven, having the key to the Abyss and holding in his hand a great chain. 2 He seized the dragon, that ancient serpent, who is the devil, or Satan, and bound him for a thousand years. 3 He threw him into the Abyss, and locked and sealed it over him, to keep him from deceiving the nations anymore until the thousand years were ended. After that, he must be set free for a short time.
Four years ago I started in this virtual world. I did not understand it well, but today I think I made the right choice to stay, because through my photos I have achieved a happy and challenging experience, thanks to my good friends, who know who they are :))
Thanks to everyone who appreciates my work. Thank you for all the love I receive here and your recognition of my work. This is a fourth year of learning, as in RL, constantly learning.
Smiles for all, and never forget to look at the sky, for even clouds have their beauty :)))

The signal bridge at South Deshler is rather imposing on a rainy May evening. Placed in service in 1932, the bridge, and its dwarf signal companions, have been safely guiding trains south from Deshler for ninety years.
Yet, despite the age of the structure, the signals function as intended, here we see a train lined out of the west siding with a "Medium Clear" on the dwarf signal
No one quite knows when these signals will be retired, but, one thing is for certain, the B&O got their investment back.

200 Years is the time span between the Treaty of Georgievsk with which Georgia became a protectorate of Russia and the erection of the Gudauri Friendship monument. This is symbolized in the middle panel with Mother Russia and small George. The left side of the monument is the Georgian side and the right side the Russian one with respective symbols from history.
Less than 10 years later, the friendship was gone.
Golden Years?
After working for decades and paying tax all the while, could we at least not give the older members of society some respect, the chance to see the grandchildren and a free TV licence?
And not try to divide the various sections of society along identity lines such as age?
And far worse besides?

Don't let me hear you say life's taking you nowhere, angel
Come get up my baby
Look at that sky, life's begun
Nights are warm and the days are young
Come get up my baby

How can really change a person in ten years?
A man who didn’t even know the basic elements of a camera and now he knows how to use the camera for photography.
Of course, I'd like to thank each one of you at Flickr, I watched countless photos, include yours, yours and yours, ohh wait wait wait, and especially yours. I LEARNED A LOT of things from your wonderful pictures and I'm so thankful for you guys to shared with no selfishness, and I'm still learning and repeating to photography.
AGAIN, I'm not as good photographer as what they think/say, I'm just a man who loves taking photos with what reflect on his eyes.
I hope that in the next ten years I could still say: Thank you.
Time move fast and you know we only live once and life is goddamn short.
Have a great weekend and stay well, my friends.
Keep creative, cheers, Sam.😊😊
This view from Duck is to the south and the Point Harbor Bridge which connects Kitty Hawk to the mainland. Taken 8 years ago but never posted until now.
Grass Island Fishing Hut, Guilford, Connecticut
This hut is a Guilford landmark. It was originally built around the turn of the 20th century and has been rebuild a few times over the years. It's sometimes called "Guilford's Little Motif" or "The Little Red House".
A duo of "Deathstars" lead the Gary, IN to Centralia, IL shuttle, A408, south past the former IC depot in Mattoon, IL. Aside from the yellow sills and first few freight cars (and likely a depot rehab), hard to tell if this was from 2020 or the late 1990's.
This old building possesses a faded glory. It does still remind us of how attractive it must have looked when built in the late 19th century on a hill overlooking central Launceston. It somehow reminds me of New Orleans and I can almost hear Marlon Brando (Stanley) screaming "Stella!" in the movie "A Streetcar Named Desire" (1951).
