It was arriving as CMP201 (Compania Panamena de Aviacion, S.A., doing business as Copa Airlines) from Panama City, Panama.
Serial number 62747 first flew on March 26, 2026 and was delivered to Copa Airlines wearing the special Panama national football team livery on April 16, 2026.
The team is nicknamed "La Marea Roja" ("The Red Tide").
