Yet another perfect day to take the camera into the forest. This one is almost straight from the camera. I only made some minimal adjustment in white balance, contrast and unsharp masking.

Staatsbos - Staphorst (NL)

...when I turned a corner and came across this outside cafe wall. How considerate, yet again :-)

This is a colour version of a shot I took last year. I'm using it to test the colours on my new monitor. As soon as I looked at my colour shots with this new monitor my eyes almost started bleeding with the amount of saturated colour. On my old monitor they looked nice & subtle. Looks like I've got a lot of reprocessing to do. No wonder I've been struggling so much with colour processing!

There's no mistaking the popularity of canola in Australia's farmlands at present; a good cash crop for producers, as well as a growing tourist attraction. This example is from northern Victoria near Kyabram South.

A cottontain gets interuppted as I join it for dinner.

More smoke for Sydney. Luckily, the winds were good for us - light, and blowing away from the mountains. Not so good for Sydney.

Battered by the recent wind and rain, my favourite Helenium hasn't quite thrown in the towel and surrendered yet. The skies were dark and heavy over Sussex Prairie Garden late yesterday afternoon, but there's still beauty to be found. The garden closes for the winter today and I shall be counting down the hours until it opens again on June 1st next year.

Tadpoles. #yovonespond.

Chose to treat this photo a bit differently, focusing on the contrast brought by the evening sun. This house looks to be made from old barnwood with wagon wheels and windmills in the yard but very modern looking window and the large HDTV antenna on the roof. Old car and newer car. Taken in Eastern Wisconsin.

I love how beautiful fall is... but I'm not a big fan of the cold.

Thank you for every single view, comment, and fav. They are very much appreciated!

Yet another creature I had never heard of.

I work as often as I want and yet I'm free as a bird

Contacts may be forgiven for thinking I spend my days just looking for rainbows. I don't. But I'd never seen one with spokes like this. So here we go -- yet another rainbow.

The northbound Coast Starlight highballs Hampton, Oregon on Union Pacific's Cascade Subdivision. It's around 5:00 pm, and the train is roughly 30-45 minutes out of Eugene. If it were on schedule, it would be somewhere in Washington between Vancouver and Kelso. A post-midnight arrival in Seattle is virtually guaranteed for this train.

Imperfect yet beautiful. Found this guy while on a country drive. Turns out it belongs to a friend of ours. Was bought at the sale when it was young and was bottle fed. He tends to not like fence boundaries and is very loved by a teenage girl.

(They trim the horn to keep it out of his eye)

Lot's of great old barns were found in this area. It was like hitting the barn hunter jackpot. North Central Michigan country side.

Yet another morning spent photographing the kestrel that is regularly visiting my garden, and hunting over the field behind. Best light so far.......
