In 1919, Flora MacDonald Denison and her son Merrill sent this card to friends and family.

Merrill was born June 23rd, 1893 so he would have been 26 when in France with the US Army

As the next newspaper article explains, Education Europe led by Karen Hughes needed to raise money for a history class trip to Europe. This Christmas card designed by teacher/artist Colin Edwards in 1972, was sold as a fund-raiser. Few of these cards remain today.

 

The art gallery at Bon Echo's Greystones Book Store was named the 'Colin Edwards Memorial Art Gallery' in recognition of Colin's talents and volunteerism.

I lack the proper tools to trim metal type for kerning (see the AV). Any DIY suggestions?
