Compare with left lower lobe collapse. Both obscure the left hemidiaphragm, but note the difference in the extent of the opacity. The absence of air bronchograms does NOT "rule out" consolidation.
Two months post-op. Everything looks good - nice and secure. See the tiny dots between the screws? Those are the bio-absorbable cages containing the bone bone fragments that are growing into permanent fusions. Meanwhile, there is nothing between the vertebrae to absorb shock, so it's a non-impact life for me.
