The right bone, broke, went over the left bone, and stuck out.

This image has been created from the data obtained from the ACIS instrument onboard Chandra X-ray Observatory.
This is an elemental composite, so rather than breaking down the image into Soft, Medium and Hard X-ray band, I broke down the image into their respective elements too create something like an elemental distribution map.
You can see the magenta colors in the inner part of the SNR and that's the Fe emission.
The shockwave front is mainly dominated by Oxygen, Magnesium, Silicon, and Sulfur.

This pop can was shrunk using electromagnetic force alone, but that's another project. The box seen underneath is made from cardboard, I'm a bit surprised it showed up at all.
bi-malleolar fracture to right ankle, fracture shaft of tibia – lower third, comminuted fracture of the lower end of the right fibula and an avulsion fracture of the medial malleolus.

Butterfly fragment fixed to proximal fragment with 1 x lag screws
Fracture reduced and held with 9 hole DCP as bridge plate
3 screws proximally
3 x distally (distal most screw as syndesmotic screw into tibia)
Medially fracture exposed and reduced fixed with 2 x 4 mm cancellous screws
As promised, here are xray prints of Lassen's foot the day after the break and three weeks later. While there is bone growth around the fracture, it is still visible. So he is on the DL for another couple of weeks.

These photos are from my "Dog's Life" Photo Portfolio. Some show the life of a privileged dog and the others are about the life of the under-privileged.
These xrays were taken about a month or 6 weeks ago, only two days after the lower filling was done. In both cases, you can see what the pediatric dentist referred to as an "overhang" - ie, defective fillings that go outside of the tooth. If you look at the top of the filling - it doesn't stay within the outline of the tooth itself. She thinks these bad fillings caused the abscesses. Though, after talking to my dad, I have my doubts. He says that overhangs are really common, and rarely cause problems. The resident at the dental school agreed. They were caused by not using a special band that goes around the tooth - it's used to keep the amalgam in place, so it doesn't squish out beside the tooth - but Kivi was so uncooperative that my dentist made the decision to not put it all the way around - he inserted it like a fence between the two teeth instead. I think he made the right decision. Kivi simply was too upset. As my father said - it's a gamble, when it's such a deep filling - there is some chance the the attempt to save the tooth will simply not work, and that's what happened in our case. Bad luck.
After ORIF (Open Reduction and Internal Fixation) surgery. The screws and plate stay but the big pin (the nail!) will probably come out.
