The world is unforgiving,
And life will take its toll.
It's difficult, when living
With a poet's burning soul.
But there's some compensation,
Which flights of fancy bring.
In his own imagination
The poet is the king.
Paul F. Cowlan, August 16, 2008

This poem was written for me yesterday by Paul F. Cowlan appearing as Lord Byron at the theatre festival "Sommerwerft" in Frankfurt/Main. "Lord Byron" offered to write poems on the spot for the cost of merely 1 Euro per line. I requested a poem on the theme "The Poet's Soul", and this is what he came up with. I think it's really lovely.
When I asked him, whether it would be OK if I put it here on Flickr, he said, "Yes, sure, as long as you make it clear that this poem is not meant to be serious." Well, by quoting him, I fulfilled his condition.
Oh, and I do love that elaborate handwriting of his. He stated that this is his usual handwriting, not a style he used especially for writing the poem.

This note, found inside a lovely daguerreotype of a young man, reads "This is a Daguerreotype Portrait. about 1845. These photos were taken between 1842-1857. The Chief Librarian at the Victoria & Albert Museum said it was a splendid specimen & well worth retaining.

pinhole cardboard box camera, paper negative, 70 minute exposure
(I'm timing these with situation. This one was the length of the playlist I was listening to. When the music was done, I developed the negative.)
Oh, and unlike the similar one yesterday, I remembered to flip the negative. This is the right way around.
This is a design inspired by a beautiful song by the singer Adele. "Someone Like You" is one of my many favorite songs by Adele a British singer-songwriter. I am sure her music will inspire many more....
This tattoo design includes music notes, piano keys, a flower, stars and heart tattoos in a gradient stardust pattern....the lettering is made in my Custom Flower Font I created myself.

A sign seen in the "Wolfsschlucht" last summer in the bavarian alps, funny to see all the little autographs on the writing and the blue lines.

I enhanced it a bit with Nik´s Color Efex Pro.

I finally finished my sewing project and had a lot of "scrids" (as I call them),
left over so needed (needled!?) to just play today. I made a few fabric postcards which will
go in the mail this week. I can't post my project yet, because it is with a jury right now.
Will be interesting to see if it gets approved or rejected! This was a first for me, as
I rarely enter contests.
Stay tuned!
Hope everyone had a beautiful weekend. We finally had a whiff of Spring!
