Portland’s own Cassie Ridgway, designer and owner of Mag-Big and writer for MOD, the Portland Mercury fashion blog, in residence at Fashioning Cascadia's Fashion Safehouse.
Her project, In the Working Woman’s Uniform, is an endeavor to produce three original garments that capture the function, purpose, and impact of uniforms for the working woman. Mindful of the legacy of the International Ladies’ Garment Workers’ Union, Ridgway questions if it is time for those involved in the grassroots apparel industry to once again unite, bringing visibility to ethical and sustainable systems of production.

these are the chants i hear all day long outside my window. along with the honking horns of supporting passersby.
please put an end to their suffering so we can all watch "two and a half men" and "the new adventures of old christine" and go back to pretending we care about the environment and the starving children in africa and global warming.
