I noticed, while soaking my brain in beer and bathing my body in cold air outside the Crossing Border after-party, that writers all seem to have the same shoes.
Well... at least these three did. But thats enough? Right?
Gemini Ink, San Antonio’s literary arts center, held its 3rd annual Writers Conference July 20-22nd, 2018 at the historic downtown El Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel. The conference focus was “Writing the New Century” and explored the role writing plays in shaping the personal, social, and political consciousness of our 21st century.
Featured award-winning authors included Dr. Norma Cantú, Martín Espada, Anel Flores, Veronica Golos, Debra Monroe, and Pulitzer Prize winner Vijay Seshadri.
The 3-day conference was comprised of a full schedule of workshops, readings, panel presentations and a small press book fair, with free evening events and after-parties.

Martine spent a few hours on Saturday and Sunday at the Montreal Salon du Livre signing copies of the book she co-wrote with Claude Heroux. Here she is at the Flammarion Quebec booth, signing away with her co-author (sitting). Jason Roy-Léveillé, a star of the current season of the show that the book is about, was there too (he's the tall guy, about to sit down).
Phoebe's writer's group of a decade (!) work hard during a writing day-retreat at the Brookline Public Library. Stay tuned for information about their upcoming anthology due out in winter 2012.
