The Writers Edition 2014 is paying tribute to Daniel Defoe, an English novelist, pamphleteer and journalist who is most famous for being the author of Robinson Crusoe (1719) - a story of a man shipwrecked alone on an island. Defoe is considered one of the founders of the English novel. Robinson Crusoe marked the beginning of realistic fiction as a literary genre.
Referring to Crusoe's unsuccessful attempts to escape the island on a raft, the shape of this Limited Edition is modelled on his paddle. Inspired by the colour and structure of wood, the precious resin of the cap and barrel symbolises Robinson Crusoe's island life reduced to the simplest of things. Fine engraving of typical 18th-century ornamentation that decorated book covers at the time adorn the cap ring and cone. The elaborately decorated clip in the shape of a feather is reminiscent of Crusoe's loyal parrot "Poll“, which is found as a fine engraving on the ruthenium-plated 750 gold nib. The filigree engravings on the rings recall the stitching of Robinson's clothing, which he had to make himself after being shipwrecked. The signature of his inventor, Daniel Defoe, is immortalised as a fine engraving on the cap and completes this fascinating Limited Edition in honour of the author of Robinson Crusoe.

Happy Birthday sister!
A couple days ago she asked to be in Day 295. She didn't know what she wanted to do for it, so I snapped pictures really late at night when she was caught off-guard. This is her making a list of things she could buy with birthday money. I love her.
I tried to capture what it is like to be a film student i a single image. I used the carpet to separate the two worlds of creation and education and the only thing that brings those two worlds together is the student. I used the lens cap in the foreground to show that the student is currently using the camera--which I was to take this picture. I chose to do a portrait style and scrunch up to show the pressure of the outside world rushing in--as the background suggests through the window. I also tried to privatize the writing session since every student has their ideas locked down tight so no one can steal them--even though most of the ideas are probably shit it is the student's most sensitive area.
All of the books are books seen are books from different film classes and a couple from my own film studies, the one open on the desk is one I currently have to read for a class. The desk lamp is pointed towards the lenses on the desk versus the book to show where the mind is at its current state in the photograph. You can also see(behind the trashcan) Brad Pitt peeking out from my Fight Club poster; that film is what inspired mt to go to film school.
Now you know exactly what I as going for.
