The Writers Room is a workspace in the main Seattle public library which is available to any author (with a book or article contract) for a 6 month period. The room provides modern desks, reading chairs, and private lockers.

Writers' Block: Voice From Women Inside and its supporting poster and postcard were the result of Firebelly's first Camp Firebelly design charrette. Designed by participating students as an extension to Beyondmedia's Women and Prison project, the zine contains letters, poetry and artwork from incarcerated women and allows them a voice in the outside world.
Pneumonia or not, I still have to write my syndicated column!
The desk is a mess, but I'm almost done with the column this week. Three days I've been working on it, in little tiny increments. And Eddie, fresh from his bath, is happy to perch on his towel on my desk chair and cheer me on.

The Circle X Board of Directors hosted a fundraiser on October 16, 2011, at the home of two supporters of the theatre company. The event honored playwright Jim Leonard and actor Jon Tenney for their service to Circle X and small theatre in Los Angeles.
Performers included Ben McKenzie, Joelle Carter, Beth Thornley & Robert Cairns, Suzy Jane Hunt, and The Watson Twins.

Maxim Gorky (1868-1936) was a Russian Soviet author and political activist. This chalet in Bad Saarow, Germany, is associated with his life and career, although he died before the outbreak of the Second World War and the subsequent incorporation of East Germany into the Soviet bloc.
Bad Saarow is a charming resort town about an hour's drive from Berlin, where the favourite Communist Party writers often came for periods of recuperation in the era of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), before the reunification of Germany in 1990.

THE WRITERS are a pop/alternative band from Huy, Belgium. Founded in 2009, the band makes a subtle indie-rock with sensible electronica, in a pop and catchy atmosphere.
