It was eerie. I set up the lights and they just worked perfectly, no tweaking required from where I'd set them up.
Strobist details: 2 285HV's, one of the left, one to the right, into a 16x56" gridded softbox. One 285 HV into a white 36" umbrella above. All optically triggered from the 144PC in my E-P3's hotshoe.
I overslept by an hour this morning and had to put this together in a jiffy. Turkey wrap with muenster cheese, corn, cherry tomatoes, avocado, and greens; berry yogurt with strawberries, raspberries, blueberries, and honey granola; carrots and yellow bell peppers with ranch dressing (in the dip container); cinnamon-sugar pita chips. Since I had no time to dress it up, it was positively providential that I pulled out a "J"-shaped baby carrot from the bag for a last-minute monogram.
I went to Seattle over Memorial weekend to visit my good friend and fab photog Shellie (www.shutterboxphotos.com). We shot a maternity session together!
About a month ago I posted a photo of the Potter House with most of its siding removed. A couple days later they wrapped it in this BLOCK IT stuff.
Not much has changed, since. We figure they're waiting on the county's inspectors before continuing the project.

Did you get what you wanted for Xmas? :) The only thing I ever ask for on Christmas is Peace on Earth, but my mother in law was nice enough to send me a handsome gift card, enough to buy myself a Lensbaby Composer. woo hoo !!:))
Hopefully one more day of working like a {choose your descriptor} and I'll have a life again!
A Korean dwarf lilac from the Hulda Klager Lilac Gardens in Woodland, Washington. I love the unique daintiness of these, and -- oh, my, the scent is so heavenly!
I know I say this about so many flowers, but lilacs are another one I struggle with photographing. I often don't comprehend what makes one so much more challenging than another, but these are clearly largely about having so many little flowers on them that it's hard to find a focal point, not to mention having so many points to keep in focus and still get a nice bokeh. I must have taken hundreds of shots in order to get one I like!

Dim sum is a style of Cantonese or Hokkien food prepared as small bite-sized or individual portions of food traditionally served in small steamer baskets or on small plates. Dim sum is also well known for the unique way it is served in some restaurants, whereby fully cooked and ready-to-serve dim sum dishes are carted around the restaurant for customers to choose their orders while seated at their tables.
Eating dim sum at a restaurant is usually known in Cantonese as going to "drink tea" (yum cha, 飲茶), as tea is typically served with dim sum.

Japanese wrapped stones (also called 'Zen stones' or 'healing stones') are rocks that are wrapped in natural cane using Japanese basketry and knotting techniques. The wraps may be complicated or simple but the resulting fusion of rock and cane exudes a sense of peace, calm, and tranquility within intricacy of design.
