For Valentine, everything is wrapped with shiny red ribbon. Red, the colour of passion, red the colour most commonly associated with love, followed at a great distance by pink.
It the symbolic colour of the heart and the red rose, is closely associated with romantic love or courtly love and Saint Valentine's Day.

Meet "Bugsy" who came from a rescue centre in Laguna {California} and was found wrapped in fishing line.
His wings were badly damaged and consequently are permanently disabled and so he cannot be returned to the wild.
Never-the-less this Pelican is truly a magnificent bird and is now safely housed in a wildlife area in the grounds of “The Flamingo Hotel" in Nevada {U.S.A.} where I photographed it.

Found on the main street through the small town of Naples, Maine standing in front of a shop, this is a wooden carving of a Maine fisherman wrapped in an iconic yellow slicker. Of course he is smoking a pipe in spite of the rain...

Charlotte was out for a walk with a friend in the park when I met her. She stood out from the crowd with her colourful scarf and hat, wrapped up against the cold on a clear winter sunlit afternoon.
