I thought that I would make a quick pit stop in Hathian to pick up donuts from my favorite donut shop. It has been a while since I had been in Hathian. Don't ask me why I like these hood donuts, but I just do! Then, the donut run turned into a "Ooo! Let me pick up some fruit by the wharf" which then lead to "Oh! I can't go back home without some bubble milk tea." FML!

and watch the dusk fall over Lake Wakatipu in the Southern Alps of New Zealand? It was a warm summer evening but it seemed more cheerful with a campfire.

We have moved a few kilometers east of Milford but the road journey took a lot longer.

Perhaps not so Poetic but very catchy and hard not to sing at least once when travelling around Scotland.

As usual, there was nowhere to pull over but there was something in this scene that really appealed to me as I saw the little lonesome cottage on the bend.

A quick shout for the Sherpa to "stooop" while I quickly snapped this image.

I think it captures the endless stretches of winding road through the untamed beauty of wild Scotland. Serenity and solitude in the heart of this rugged landscape where habitation is scarce and nature abounds.

would you take it back right away? Neither would I.

Would love to get back out to Banff and Jasper with the Sigma 14mm.

Back to the lovely Bangor Castle Walled Garden. These sweetly fragranced roses climb up the arched trellises.

I would be very interested to know if anyone can tell what’s going on with this buck. I’m pretty sure if I saw this picture I wouldn’t have a clue. Any guesses?

Would you believe me if I told you I got all 3 of these beauties for $20.41 exactly? The Target worker confused Kumi for another SA doll and gave her to me for $6.45 plus taxes- I might get Yas tomorrow! The best part? My friend Day got them for me!

Three LED lights, a bunch of artificial flowers, and a guy with too much time on his hands.

"Whither would you go?

What country, by the nature of your error,

Should give you harbor?

...

Why, you must needs be strangers?

Would you be pleased

To find a nation of such barbarous temper

That breaking out in hideous violence

Would not afford you an abode on earth?

Whet their detested knives against your throat,

Spurn you like dogs, and like as if that God

Owned not nor made not you, nor that the elements

Were not all appropriate to your comfort,

But charter’d unto them?

What would you think

To be thus used?

This is the stranger's case"

would you like some flowers?

Against all odds the tree lives in rock, wind, little water....but oh what a view.

Its my wedding anniversary tomorrow and i thought I would celebrate by posting a photograph of a recently married couple, who like myself (many years ago ) are starting on a journey. One that I have loved and still love.

I searched for a freeway that would line up with the rising full moon, and I drove to a footbridge that crosses Highway 101 in the Menlo Park, California. There was a lot of traffic for a Saturday night. This is an early shot, some minutes later the moon was above the freeway.

I processed a realistic and a balanced HDR photo from 1 RAW exposure, blended them selectively, and carefully adjusted the color balance and curves. I welcome and appreciate constructive comments.

Thank you for visiting - ♡ with gratitude! Fave if you like it, add comments below, like the Facebook page, order beautiful HDR prints at qualityHDR.com.

This would probably be my 2nd choice for Macro Mondays 'corner' on 9th January - a tiny pottery coaster around 2" diameter with a leaf imprint, made by my daughter, Clare. She also made me one in purple!

"Who would imagine there’s an authentic Chinese tea house hugging the Cliff Walk in Newport? Behind the incredible Marble House, at the bottom of its sloping lawn stands this little treasure with incredible views of the Atlantic. Marble House is a gilded era mansion built between 1888 and 1892 and was the summer cottage of Alva and William Vanderbilt. It cost approximately 11 million dollars to build, and it was given to Alva by her husband on her 39th birthday.

After they divorced, she married Oliver H.P. Belmont and became Alva Belmont. She is known as an ardent crusader for women’s equality and gave thousands of dollars to the National Women’s Party to advance women’s rights. After her second husband’s death in 1908, she re-opened Marble House and had the Chinese Tea House built on the cliffs. It was here that she held her rallies for women’s right to vote."

Would not the window be that passage through which the meaning of our relationship with the world is revealed ?

Arras - 2019

“Alice: Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?

The Cheshire Cat: That depends a good deal on where you want to get to.

Alice: I don't much care where.

The Cheshire Cat: Then it doesn't much matter which way you go.

Alice: ...So long as I get somewhere.

The Cheshire Cat: Oh, you're sure to do that, if only you walk long enough.”

Quote ― Lewis Carroll, Alice in Wonderland

What wizards would do is to enchant the camera. In other words, they would make your old equipment 'upload' new and magical powers. And this is indeed what you need. Don't think that more processing power and more autofocus technology will do the trick. The magic of photography is of a different quality altogether. Fuji X-E2 plus Mitakon Speedmaster at F8.

I would like to show what it is really like walking through the temperate rainforest arount Mount Taranaki. The harder I try the more I regret having started this endeavour. Usually I pick something out of the chaos and try to control the light, the background, the composition, removing distractions in the field and in post processing. Normally I avoid shooting any forest scene when the sun is out. That would have been a good start but I just shot three HDR exposures and thought I can salvage it in Lightroom. Two hours into editing the photo I realize that you cannot salvage shortcuts in the field in the computer. I already knew that. Anyway, this is a tree along the trail which has a lot of plants (epiphytes) growing on it, a typical forest scene around Mount Taranaki. New Zealand native forests appear chaotic and untidy to some but it is the most beautiful chaos I know. This is the raw, heavily processed version of it, trying to make it look as natural as my eyes could see it processing the scene effortlessly in an instant.

The adults were pretty fine with me staying so close to the nest. It was like a competition: who would bring more food to the just hatched chicks?
