Today, February 4th, 2013 is World Cancer Day. I have so many emotions about this month. 20 years ago I lost my Dad, my hero and first love to this dreaded disease. I wear the "Sparkles of Hope" bracelet as a way of remembering him. The Sparkles of Hope bracelets are designed by Karlande Designs and sold as a fundraiser for the Dr.H. Bliss Murphy Cancer Care Foundation in Newfoundland and Labrador. Each colored bead represents a different type of cancer. I am also grateful today for the letter I received from my most recent mammogram informing me that my recent mammogram is normal and no further testing is due for 2 years. A reminder to my flickr friends to please have your regular health tests done yearly. Sorry this post is long but I felt it was important.
