:) working on some christmas ornaments!

We used to hold meetups here before we got the presentation room side of the building. Now, it's a great place for conversation or watching events on the projector while eating lunch.

One of my most favourite.

Here are the before and after photos of my workspace.

Recycled over 30 magazines, multiple Styrofoam coffee cups, a couple of

plastic cups and an empty soft drink bottle.

This include a lot of copies of Security policies I drafted and

re-drafted for review.

Also, I had a ton of plastic bags under my desk that I am recycling.

Thanks, this motivated me to clean up my desk and recycle a ton of

things.

It was sunny, the Internet worked relatively well, and work got done.

Nintendo DS, Guardian Dragon, Sudoku book, notepad, tea - a fine set of stuff

Recently bought a Logitech Z623, hook it up with the StyleAudio Carat USB DAC. Sounds amazing.

I was stuck at the point of sorting the closets when we actually hit Week 4 of the workshop so I was pleased to put sorting things aside and start work on my final project, a big counted cross-stitch piece that would proclaim what Rhomany said to us: "WELL DONE YOU!" It is a less common expression in the States than in the UK, especially here in rural Minnesota. The framer said "What a nice thing to say! Who says that?" English people! And it IS a nice thing to say! I unearthed and unburied the Aida cloth, the embroidery floss, and the DMC alphabet chart when I cleaned out the closets and the Hoosier cabinet.

I started the Whimsical Workspaces workshop on October 1 and did not finish until December 26. The hardest parts were beginning and finishing. I look at the first picture and can't believe it. I had stuff in here from my craft stash, Mom's stash, and a combination of both recently brought back from a huge storage unit. That I would ever have clear floor space again seemed impossible. I had clear floor space after Day 1, Area 1, though, and I kept going from there. Having clear floor space to stand on was the goal every day! After the workshop ended and I was still working, I was able to take the whole program that I had left and put it on a spreadsheet and make a task list for each day, which I worked through fairly systematically. When I got sick and tired of a big task, like sorting a closet, I would choose a simple, quick project from another day and do that instead. It helped me get to the finish line.

The journal entries in the spreadsheet were a little different from the ones I put here. They may have been more task-oriented than what I wrote here. But all the journal entries were important to do, especially Week 1.

This is where I started the SCILS program. Then my kids took it over and I got booted out.

Our Presentation Room has a great sound system and projector projecting on a special surface for a clear, high quality display.

There is where we hold meetups up to about 80 people. If your event is free and open to the public, and your org is non-commercial, you can use it for free for an evening or weekend meetup. It's also available for rent for gatherings of up to 30 people.

My workspace as it is currently laid out. From left to right, visible are my printer-scanner, the IBM RT 135 (Guru), a desk made out of cinder block and plywood atop which is the RT monitor and a SPARCstation 20 (Morningstar), my chair, and a glass and metal desk on top of which is the monitor for my Pentium4 PC (AdamMalkovich) and a switchbox to allow it access to Morningstar.

Our Private Call Room is suitable for up to 60 minutes' meetings on an ad-hoc basis. It's not bookable in order to keep it available frequently. We provide good lighting and a good mic so you can look and sound great on calls.
