PERSONAL FUN FACT written by my sister: I got this doll, on the right, my Sun Gold Malibu, and my Quick Curl from a kind lady who runs an indoor flea market. She was always very nice to me and Shelly. She only charged me two dollars for all three dolls--less than a dollar each! When I first got them, I was most excited about her even though Sun Gold Malibu had her outfit. I liked her best because she's the sort of Skipper I enjoyed collecting most as a kid. Plus, the Teen Fun line was the start to the type of Skippers I most enjoy collecting. The other two cuties I found the same day ended up eclipsing her. I love her but I've fallen harder for the other two. However, seeing her in this great fashion I bought on eBay, she looks so sweet! Honestly? I bought this fashion pack for THIS doll! I just thought it would be perfect for her! Getting her is one of those moments that has remained ingrained in my mind over the past decade.
The beauty on the left was a gift. She arrived here on the Thursday before February vacation in 2023 with a large number of other dolls (known as the "Wondrous Wellie Wishers Lot"). The box of dolls was a completely unexpected gift! I think her face is prettier than my old doll's, but that's just subjective and the angle could change that. She is, undeniably, in more complete condition! She arrived here with her whole outfit intact! I was actually so awed by her condition that I was nervous about undressing her and washing her clothes because I didn't want anything to get lost or damaged. This doll is so iconic to me. Seeing my old doll, even in her carefully selected fashion, did not have the same effect as seeing this more recent acquisition in her complete outfit. She really brings to mind the pamphlets I got with my Teen Fun Party Teen Skipper for Christmas 2003! So, I guess, for me she's the 80s and the early 2000s rolled into one!
I've adopted varying workouts that get your heartrate up and down, up and down… but I have to write them out in short-hand or I will forget what goes in what order!
