Crossing a red line, once your colour co-ordinated & take one step at a time.

Art is always and everywhere the secret confession, and at the same time the immortal movement of its time.

- Karl Marx

Sparks will fly

Its time to clear up a mess left by a road traffic accident, time for some angle grinding & brute force, sparks will fly.

Another Highgate Cemetery East series, this time of Karl Marx, perhaps the most famous resident.

Again a couple more in the comments.

The gable wall of the Irish Congress of Trade Unions (ICTU) office in Donegall Street Place, Belfast is adorned with a magnificent mural celebrating the many unions with membership in Ireland, north and south.

It states: An Injury to One is an Injury to All.

Commissioned from Belfast muralists Danny Devanny and Mark Ervine It was unveiled by ICTU President John Douglas in September 2013, the year that marked the 100th anniversary of the Dublin lock-out that ran from August 1913 to January 1914.

Some typically apt Banksian irony at the Banksy v Bristol Museum exhibition. I wasn't going to photograph too many of these 2D installations but to get a rather large one that for a moment didn't have anyone actually stood in front of it was too rare an opportunity to pass up,

An Bord Pleanála, Irish for The Planning Board, their offices alongside the new LUAS cross city extension through Dublin City Centre & to Broombridge in Cabra.

After all the planning, the extension is launched in just two weeks time on Saturday 9th December 2017.

Tram 4001 is seen on these rails for the very first time, testing on Sunday 17th June 2017 on Marlborough having just completed the first ever circuit of O'Connell Street & now heading back southbound.

Just below the word "Unite" on Karl Marx's headstone is a barcode that smartphone owners can scan for more information. I took this series of pictures on an iPhone, but as for the barcode there wasn't an app for that, at least on mine.

Margaret Jones, 91, the great-grandmother of Auckland activism, wearing an 80-year-old placard to a public meeting about Ports of Auckland workers. Margaret designed the placard when she was 11 for a Palmerston North rally of thousands of women and children protesting the forced labour of their unemployed husbands and fathers hours away in Rotorua. "It's an oldie but a goodie," she said.

Regatta Quay development, College Street, Ipswich

Five storeys up above the dockside, workers demolishing the roof frame of a vast 19th century warehouse as part of the new Regatta Quay development. Not sure about that scaffold tower, but I suppose that they know what they are doing.

Taken at about half past four on a winter afternoon. No special effects except that I boosted the contrast a bit and put on the black border. Best viewed 1024x768.

I missed being a member of the communist youth because I skipped taking the oath in November 1989 on account of bad weather (it was bitterly cold and we had to take the oath in front some monument somewhere in the countryside). I was a junior in high school (9th grade in the Romanian system) - 15 years of age. This got my conduct grade diminished from 10 to 9.

Oh, I was a dissident! :)
