Here is the winter set that I am giving to my mother-in-law. Right now I just have the scarf done.
I used Peruvian Wonders Fine Alpaca yarn on size 5 needles. I can't find a color indicator on the packaging. :( It is a vibrant spring green.
I used a single 1x1 rib for the edges. The interior is a twin rib.
Watch out for a matching hat & wrist warmers!
...I had a teacher at Cal State Long Beach who started in me the
practice of making small thumbnail sketches of ideas, or compositions...
I use it all the time to this day...sometimes I love the sketch and almost feel no
need to improve on it...almost... (it really forces you to distill ideas down to their
most basic elements...you can play with the compositions without investing too much
time into the work until you know what it is you really want to do with it...)
I love how this turned out...it's a sketch for a paper cut I am getting ready to do...the composition's been in my head for some time and only now am I getting it out
onto paper....
(It actually only measures 3.5" x 2")
I've been working on a charcoal grey winter set for my s.o. Nathaniel. Right now I've completed the scarf. The panda is wearing what I have done for the hat so far.
The yarn I am using is to die for. It's Classic Elite Inca Alpaca color #1177 lot #3033. It is insanely soft and almost oily... it feels like silk even though it's 100% alpaca from Peru. It comes in a number of good colors too... definately going to a repeat customer.
Anyway... after the hat comes the wrist warmers. Look out for those.
