MIRANDOLA - BASTIONE DEL TORRIONE NOVECENTESCO

Dopo il crollo del maggio 2012, i merli sono stati ricostruiti e ricollocati al loro posto, consentendo così la riapertura dell'esercizio commerciale ospitato nei locali sottostanti, nonchè una visione più omogenea e, potremmo dire, familiare dell'edificio.

The sweater is knit from the top down, so I can try it on as it's being knit. The yarn is half merino, half angora -- so soft and cozy!

Some revisions made after feedback -- additional highlights on the green and shading on the cloth. While the changes are good in principle I made the highlights too thick and the shading isn't as smooth as I would like. It's good practice though so I shan't cry.

The solo one is Bosh. He's half man half rabbit. The one in triplicate is either named Bildge or Bill or Bill G. Haven't decided yet. We're not sure what he is yet. I'm not sure if I'm going to be running this comic on screamingtongue.com or on a new domain yet...

I just added the orange around them for this photo. This is the initial character design in Sketchbook Pro. Next I'll move them over to Photoshop and start putting them in scenes, refining them, etc.

I had a serious case of wannacaston the other night, so I started the Cabled Gauntlets from Alchemy Yarns. I'm knitting this in Knit Picks Wool of the Andes, Forest Heather. This is my first time cabling without a cable needle! Go me! =)

MIRANDOLA - CHIESA DI SAN FRANCESCO - VETRATA

Dallo stretto corridoio che si è venuto a creare grazie alle misure di messa in sicurezza, tra la fiancata meridionale della chiesa e la casa vicina, si intravvede la prima delle vetrate superstiti che illeggiadrivano la navata, ora parzialmente crollata.

Perdute le prime quattro, sbriciolate , polverizzate dallla furia del sisma, rimane, danneggiata sì, ma rimane, la quinta vetrata che ha per soggetto Giovanni Pico.

La metà superiore è pressochè intatta (Arco acuto, fenice sulla testa del filosofo, busto di Giovanni che si staglia sul castello "all'antica). La metà inferiore è infranta, ma grandi frammenti dei vetri istoriati sono rimasti imbrigliati nella rete metallica che proteggeva il manufatto dall'esterno. E' quindi probabile che, una volta recuperati, possano ricomporre il disegno antico e noto ai cultori della storia della Chiesa di San Francesco.

Tutte le rimanenti vetrate (navata, abside ed oculo della facciata) sono, per fortuna, integre.
