Walking up a hill again at Bellevueparken, near Brunnsviken. The building among the trees is a museum. Dedicated to the work of the sculptor Carl Eldh, who lived and worked here. This is another panorama. I liked the sky, so for dramatic purposes I decided to underexpose the scene a bit. Nine photos, shot with the Canon 77D, using the 60mm lens.

As far as I know, there are seven outdoor gyms like this one at the Rudan nature reserve, in Haninge. This one is quite popular, there are lots of running trails here so this is a good spot for a workout. And if you wanna combine the workout with a swim, the two lakes are just meters away.

This new bike service station in Handen has been here since early Spring. That is when they repaved the bike path, and made sure that we can all cycle through a wide puddle close to a bus stop after every rainfall, and it sure was a rainy Summer. Great fun. And then everyone just forgot about the service station. So here it is, unused behind the fence. Oh, and long Swedish word of the day, check.

This was the first photo I took yesterday. Orange peel by the side of the bike path, across the road from the burned down school at Beateberg. So Swedish word of the day, yesterday, was Apelsinskal. Orange peel.

It was "mösspåtagning" in Stockholm yesterday.Student cap day. The city was filled with soon to graduate secondary school students drinking beer all day long. They continued to do that for the rest of the day, evening and night. Here they are at Medborgarplatsen on Södermalm. I read a news report last night where local police asked the parents to pick up their drunk kids, so it sounds like a day to remember!

The Miriam Webster Online word for January 1...EMIGRATE...to leave one's place of residence or country to live elsewhere.

My family and my husband's family emigrated from Europe and came through Ellis Island. I have pictures from both families included in the one collage though our families came from different areas of Europe.

This is a collage of family members who emigrated, or had their children emigrate...which can be traumatic too. The map is of old Hungary, the home is the old homestead, the flag of Hungary, the genealogy chart of part of the family.

Tricky to pronounce Swedish word of the day if you don't speak the local lingo. Tuggummiautomat. Gumball machine. Even trickier with your mouth filled with bubble gum of course. I made a pit stop at my barber's place today. The saloon is called Olympiasalongen and can be found at Åbyplan in Västerhaninge. The barber is Mikael Lindström, who took over the saloon after his dad retired many years ago now. I have cut my hair here since the mid 1980s. Mikael have remodelled the place to look like a 1950s barber shop, and there's always something new (or vintage), to check out, and today it was this gumball machine.
