There are 5 wolves in this group: collared gray male 587M (former Mollie Pack), light gray alpha female (former Hayden Pack), a gray and a black male and one gray pup.

Early in the game the lighting was still pretty good so I took some nice action shots. Here our defense is in line to take down the ball carrier. In our first district game our team won 38-17 I think. Tough game, we beat the Wolves and the officials. Worst display of hometown officials I have seen in several years.

A pack of wolves played like dogs. They seemed so sweet....Ha!

Mexican Wolves nearly became extinct and are extremely endangered. A subspecies of the gray wolf, they are the smallest North American wolf. They were exterpated in the wild when the last 5 were captured in the late 70's. After their numbers increased significantly in captive breeding programs, rereintroduction to the wild began in 1998. These two, at the Arizona Sonora Desert Museum, are part of the captive breeding program (DSC03581)
