Meet Stitch, who according to his alpha human, is 20% Alaskan Malamute, and 80% Gray Wolf. He looked 100% wolf.
We captured these two wolves with one of our wildlife cameras in December 2012.
The Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure uses wildlife cameras near highways to help track wildlife movement and behaviour.

I'm still gonna tweak it a bit, or even make a new one. but this is the main concept. the wolves, are cause my dad loved them, there's two, cause duh, he's one and I'm the smaller one. idk bout color yet though. the moon is cause he was helping me to get better on my photography/nightshots...so, yeah. oh, and the tree...eh, just thought it looked kool overlapping into the moon..I might take it out though or redraw, idk yet.
Scanned photo, taken this past fall with my 35mm Rebel.
Okay, I'll put the story on here.
- ...After we had dropped the other team off on the opposite side of the estuary we anchored the boat off a point on the North side of the estuary, Maelle & I walked into the forest in search of wolf scat, we followed separate trails and I decided to walk along the edge of the forest in the estuary. I was just out of the forest for a few minutes when I rounded a point of trees, I noticed some movement about 100 metres ahead of me on the estuary. It was a wolf and it had noticed me too, it didn't seem to mind me and kept on with what it was doing, it was pouncing on something in a small creek that ran through the estuary. I stood still and watched it for a few minutes before slowly taking my pack off to take out my camera. I snapped a few shots and watched it for another five minutes before it wandered off. I whistled to Maelle who was still in the forest following a trail. She joined me a few minutes later, I told her about the wolf then we walked to the place where it was before it wandered off. I realized when we got to the spot that it was trying to catch the juvenile salmon in a small stream. As Maelle & I we climbing over the bank of the stream I spotted the wolf laying in the grass on the edge an island of trees & brush on the estuary, it was asleep, Maelle says, "maybe it's dead." As soon as she finished saying that it wagged its tail and flicked its ears. We moved as quietly as we could through a stand of crab apple trees to get a better view. We watched this one wolf for a few minutes then I had her call the other team to tell them what we found, as she was whispering our observations over the radio I saw more movement in the tall grass next to the wolf, it was another one! I signalled to Maelle that was now two wolves lying there. Maelle started back toward me, as she was coming around the stand of trees the second wolf caught her movement and stood up to check it out, the first wolf (the big one and the leader I'm assuming) stood up a second after and faced us, I took a couple of photos as they stood there looking at us. All of a sudden the big one let out a gruff & started toward us at an aggressive pace. I took my eye away from my camera and looked up to see four more wolves looking at us from the tall grass. The first words out of my mouth were "holee shit". The four were starting to move around to our side as the leader came straight at us. This was all happening within seconds. I took the flap off my bear-spray holster then faced the one coming straight at us, I stood my ground and clapped my hands together as loud as I could a couple of times then shouted, "hey, hey! you stop right there." Thankfully he stopped, as he turned to join his mate the other four turned away as well and all six disapeared into the brush. I turned and looked at Maelle, who placed herself right behind me and said "you believe that just happened?" We both let out a laugh of relief and she said "I'm glad you were here, I had no idea what to do!" My heart was pounding, the adrenaline left my knees a bit shaky and I kept playing the entire situation over & over in my head. I lost all concentration for work for the rest of that day. We left that transect and went to another estuary for another transect. I still had some butterflies when I got home that night.
We were watching for the wolves in the Lamar Valley of YNP when we came across three wolves on the left side of the road. As they ran ahead we followed in the chance the may cross the road and give us a much better view. They did cross and to our surprise picked up some more and totaled seven wolves.

Conspiring with him how to load and bless

To bend with apples the moss'd cottage-trees,
And fill all fruit with ripeness to the core;
To swell the gourd, and plump the hazel shells
With a sweet kernel; to set budding more,
