Skull of a wolverine (Gulo gulo).
The other business end. These crests form the anchor points for the powerful muscles of jaw and neck, the muscles that drive the wolverine's powerful bite.
Note the very rough surface of the bones. This texture forms on bones that are under a great deal of stress. The rough bone provides more anchor points for the muscle to adhere.
The size of these crests, combined with the width of the cheekbones and how widely the cheekbones spread, are excellent indicators of bite strength.
This is my first attempt at a Wolverine portrait. It took far longer than I expected but that may be partly due to the amount of time I spent looking at topless photos of Hugh Jackman in the name of research! It's a hard life ;-)
The painting was created digitally using traditional painting techniques.
This painting is available to purchase on my Etsy Store via my website www.tessalake.co.uk (There is no watermark on the final print)

Tomorrow it's my first day in the University. It's going to be really really hard, there are a lot of signatures, there will be a lot of homework and everything will change.
High School was extremely awesome and it was there when I start to take a lot of shots of action figures. These are the last shots of high school ( I have like 10 more but I will upload theme later) I had a lot of projects in mind but I was really busy and I couldn't do them on time.
Anyway, I hope I can upload my last shots before University this week. I don't know if I will be able to use flickr as much as in High School so thanks to all the great persons I have met here, thanks for your support, you encouraging words, your suggestions, everything. THANK YOU VERY MUCH, MY BEST WISHES TO ALL OF YOU!
(http://www.nwtrek.org) Wolverine Kit at Northwest Trek in Eatonville, Washington.
Wolverine births are fairly rare in captivity, only 10 accredited zoos (NW trek included) exhibit the species. A Kit was born at Trek on Valentines Day 06- the only Wolverine birth in an American "zoo" that year. But this achievement was followed up in March 2007 by three more births, this being one of them at about 3 months old. I've been trying to get a decent shot of their older sister for a while now, but the Wolverines (even the adults) are always running around. This little guy would lay down for, maybe, two seconds before getting up and playing again.

Exercise Steadfast Jazz 2013 is taking place from 1-9 November in a number of Alliance nations including the Baltic States and Poland. The purpose of the exercise is to train and test the NATO Response Force, a highly ready and technologically advanced multinational force made up of land, air, maritime and special operations components that the Alliance can deploy quickly wherever needed. The Steadfast series of exercises are part of NATO’s efforts to maintain connected and interoperable forces at a high-level of readiness.
