Narrowband image using the Hubble palette for the color scheme. The OIII in this one was hard to pull out because imaging from a red/white zone with moon is a challenge for this filter. Anyways, I'm happy with the result.

The Wizard Nebula (NGC 7380) is an emission nebula in the constellation Cepheus. The nebula is said to resemble the appearance of a medieval sorcerer. It lies at a distance of 7,200 light years from Earth, has a radius of 100 light years and occupies an area of the sky the size of a full moon. The open cluster was discovered by the German astronomer Caroline Herschel in 1787. The estimated age of the cluster is 4 million years. The radiation and stellar winds of the cluster’s young stars are responsible for creating the nebula’s shape. While the nebula will dissipate within a few million years, some of the stars formed within it will likely outlive our Sun.

Themed well, still not Disney :) I love how the buildings are all slightly crooked and used forced perspective to really evoke a mood.
First Light with the AP 1100 GTO. I am truly impressed with its performance...everything just gets easier. The guiding was within one arc-second but there was still a little bit of star traveling in the images. At the end of the session, I realised, that the guider did not correct moves under 0.5 arc-seconds, I may reduce this tolerance.

Morning lights shinning on Wizard Island at Crater Lake National Park, Oregon. A clear sky morning... no clouds, no vibrant colours... Hope you enjoy the shades and the mirror like peaceful blue lake. :)
Thanks for viewing!
Have a great weekend!
One of the reasons Tim and I logged so many miles on this trip was that we made a point of going down to Bandon Beach, and I'm happy we did so.
Have a great weekend and thanks for looking!

Wanted to try out a different body shape with this one. I got the idea to make a lizard-type character from an old Knights' Kingdom 2 torso to which I added some eyes using the same technique as the Fly Samurai. I didn't have enough red boat studs to make both legs, which prompted me to give the character a wooden leg. The character with just the wooden leg looked a little weird, so then came a bunch of potions, knick-knacks and a cane to give it a wizard-y / Mad-Eye Moody vibe. I'm not used to giving characters a bunch of little accessories but I think this one lent itself pretty well to a wanderer hoarder-type look!
From a warm, humid afternoon getting attacked by mosquitoes, to a frigidly cold evening atop the granite peaks, it was a typical May evening doing astrophotography in the Sierras. I played with some light painting sequences for this composite image: one longer exposure taken for the Milky Way, a different exposure for light painting. The granite rock at the lower right reminded me of a wizard’s hat.

Don't let their white attire fool you... these Wizards have dark souls. If they have souls at all! While plotting their evil schemes they never leave the shadows and let others do the dirty work. It is anyone's guess what their motives might be other than to spread misery and dread throughout Middle-earth.
Majestic Crater Lake and the iconic Wizard Island. One of the deepest lakes in the world, Crater Lake has a depth of just under 2,000' - and the water is deep blue, azure green, and crystal clear in the shallower areas. A sight to behold.
