WSOR L467 eases across the bridge at Lake Wisconsin behind the 40th anniversary engine and an ex-NS GP59.
This shot was taken last winter. I was just thinking to myself, "Man, can you imagine the amount of snow they must have this year?!" Now, that would be a shot! But here, too, I'm not about to travel that far in these blizzard-like conditions. I'll save that for another day! Perhaps we'll have a before and after shot! ha!
When we were still looking at houses to buy in the area, we thought we were about ready to buy a house just 1-2 miles from here. Definitely out in the country here too! I would've enjoyed that. It was actually in a little neighborhood, but the houses were spread out quite a bit, so it would've still been enjoyable and country-like. What I would've enjoyed, was there were several barns in the area that were so photogenic and picturesque! Oh well, it wasn't meant to be; it got bought up before we were ready to start looking seriously.
Hope you all enjoy!

Autumn foliage captured down a gravel road in rural Wisconsin... While returning to Iowa from Upper Michigan I took a few short detours looking for scenes such as this one. Comments and views are appreciated and happy weekend!
Built in 1892 with additions 1928 as Milwaukee Malt & Grain Co, it was home of Wisconsin Cold Storage. The original portion of the building has Art Deco elements, but the additions are simply brick with a few parapets as adornments.
Wednesday I spent some time exploring the wetland area of Maywood Environmental Center in Sheboygan, Wisconsin. The sun and the warmer temperatures made it feel almost Spring-like on the last day of February. I know that Wisconsin will have more wintery days, but we are much closer to green times again.
I like the way this reed is bent, but still standing. It's a survivor.

At the confluence of the Mississippi and Wisconsin Rivers, a BNSF eastbound carrying military vehicles crosses the Wisconsin River near Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin on April 12, 2021. BNSF received the military loads from the Wisconsin & Southern - which hauled them from Oshkosh, where they were built.

(I THINK) This barn was in Wisconsin. Off a highway in a small town, it was obviously well-taken care of and maintained to show it off. I've included some closeups of some parts we find on the barns, like cupola (the thing on the top), weather vane, lightning rod, and an old water well pump.
