These picturesque ruins are part of the Halfway Prairie Wildlife Area that's located in the Dane County countryside along Wisconsin Highway 19 across from Indian Lake County Park, in the town of Berry, east of Mazomanie, Wisconsin. I'm not sure what this building was, and I can't seem to locate any information online.

A cool way to view mine or anyone else's photostream is on fluidr.

Autumn foliage captured down a gravel road in rural Wisconsin... While returning to Iowa from Upper Michigan I took a few short detours looking for scenes such as this one. Comments and views are appreciated and happy weekend!

Wisconsin not far from home

Built in 1892 with additions 1928 as Milwaukee Malt & Grain Co, it was home of Wisconsin Cold Storage. The original portion of the building has Art Deco elements, but the additions are simply brick with a few parapets as adornments.

Wisconsin & Southern's North Milwaukee-Plymouth train ambles past park ponds north of downtown Mequon, Wisconsin on CN's Saukville Sub.

There have been some spectacular sunsets and sunrises this month, mostly due to smoke from the wildfires in Canada.

5:39AM in Jefferson, Wisconsin

We got a treat a few evenings ago when CN 3069, the WC heritage unit led A439 out of Proctor. The sky had started to clear only a couple hours earlier.

(I THINK) This barn was in Wisconsin. Off a highway in a small town, it was obviously well-taken care of and maintained to show it off. I've included some closeups of some parts we find on the barns, like cupola (the thing on the top), weather vane, lightning rod, and an old water well pump.

Wisconsin

I saw this beautiful Harley Davidson motorcycle in a parking lot accross from the Wisconsin Maritime Museum in Manitowoc Wisconsin. I couldn't resist taking a photo.

Union Pacific 4014 makes easy work of her passenger excursion as it thunders across the former Chicago and Northwestern Altoona subdivision towards Adams, Wisconsin for its overnight layover.

Historic rural Wisconsin downtown

An idyllic rural scene along the highway in Wisconsin.

A warm summer noontime finds GB&W train 2 zipping along at a little over 40mph near Hatfield. The faded 319 dates this as long after the McGee era. Still three C424's make for a nice summer distraction even though they look rough in comparison to a decade earlier. July 21, 1992.

The water level is pretty low in the Wisconsin River, which is normal. It's quite fun walking through the spongy mud hunting marooned tree logs.

Canadian Pacific 7017 and BNSF 6712 lead CP train 470 under the recently-closed wooden bridge near Reeseville, Wisconsin on June 17, 2020. The bridge, which dates back to the 1960s, was built as a replacement for the previous structure that was destroyed in a Milwaukee Road derailment. The current bridge failed inspection last week and was closed immediately.
