Italian media protested after the Senate approved a law limiting police wiretaps
and punishing newspapers that publish leaked transcripts.
On June 11th, 2010, the daily "La Repubblica" ran an empty front page with the words:
"The gagging law denies citizens the right to be informed."
The set up of this tower complex struck me as odd. I mean, I can understand the idea of a wireless tower, for cell phones and whatever else. But I couldn't figure out why there were such heavy-duty cables running from the tower into the nearby building. There weren't any such cables leaving the building, so I wondered what happened to these signals inside the building. Perhaps this is where our government's warrentless wiretapping takes place.
Habeas Corpus gone, waterboarding totally cool...wiretapping,
oops, we bombed the wrong country, sorry, my bad...$4 gas
Florida 2000...Diebold...Ohio 2004...Swiftboat motherfuckers
Shit's so fucked up that even the Statue of Liberty's pissed!

The big lightpole in the middle of the screen really annoyed me. I wanted to rocketjump using the round walls to get further. Place the pole between the two round things.

it is important to continue cultivating idealism, so that it will have something to offer in complex times.
Yoo sets out what he sees as the nature of the post-9/11 war. It is with al-Qaeda’s network, a widely dispersed enemy with real form, he believes, not with shadowy concepts. "The War on Terror," for his money, is just a term resulting from bad political campaigning. In a systematic, lawyerly fashion, Yoo then sets out to justify all the extraordinary measures taken by the administration: The Geneva Conventions did not anticipate this enemy. Assassination is appropriate — the key to war in a networked world is to eliminate the most powerful nodes in your opponent’s network. Information Age terror networks require more surveillance and wiretapping. Guantanamo’s jails are where you contain the enemy, yielding as little information as possible to the other side. High-pressure interrogation is how you figure out your opponent’s network and his threats, and secret military commissions are where you decide his ultimate fate. Detention and information extraction are the key weapons, he emphasizes. In a dangerous world, where information will ultimately save thousands of lives, the concept of guilt or innocence is collateralized as an afterthought.
I was already making more macros of printed circuit boards. This has in the past always worked quite well, but as close as here I am never approached due to the then low depth of field, it lacked the viewer just a lot of information about the board.
In these images, I've done two things differently:
Setup as shown us by Tilo Gockel (Thanks Tilo, cool idea!) Supplemented with slight brightening by a flash with blue gel. So I wanted to make the PCB a bit upbeat.
Then 15-20 photos made with migratory sharpness, which were afterwards rendered with a Stacking software into a single image.
So beautiful can electronic waste be
I find especially the blurry photos quite aesthetically.
Here's some examples (with making-of).

2013-MAY-29; Letter to the Editor by Mark Bauer. Published in the Fort Worth Star Telegram: If these end up being the worst Obama ?scandals,? then you have to admit it has been a very commendable administration. Benghazi talking points changed? IRS trying to keep political groups from improperly filing as 501(c)(4)? A legally sanctioned wiretap to find a national security leak? I?ll take these non-scandals over imaginary WMDs or a Watergate break-in any day. ? Mark Bauer, Colleyville
On Monday, July 11, 2016, Mike and I headed to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) to exchange our Florida driver's licenses for Texas ones. Given the lengthy wait ahead of us, we decided to visit the nearby Texas DPS Historical Museum and Research Center (5805 N. Lamar Blvd.) to kill some time.
Here, you can see one of the vintage DPS equipment displays in the museum's main exhibit room. This case features a dial-up wiretap transmitter that dates to the 1960s.
. . . . .
The Texas DPS Museum website features a virtual tour that allows visitors to click and pan for a 360-degree view of the main exhibit room.
