All we needed was a bolt of lightning and we were able to resurrect my computer with very little fuss.

Now I can select Windows XP or Ubuntu on start up.
Took me over 18 hours just to get all of my applications reloaded in Windows XP.
But after a week and hours of reconfiguring application settings, my laptop is back in business. Now to get the Linux applications I want working.
RAV4 carPuter. Hardware is a disassembled and hacked up Dell Mini 9 with 4GB SSD for OS; 32GB SD card for storage. USB port have been run down below head unit, along with power and HDD stauts LEDs (HDD LED is a hack in itself). The piece of black cable seen is for the LEDs (not hooked up yet). The piece of audio cable is for aux input using 3.5mm jack. Original Mini poer button moved to center of bezel, below screen. Small hole on left side of bezel is for microphone (used for Skype of other voice applications). Mini 9 has bluetooth and WiFi capabilities built in. Track pad extended to center console/arm rest for fine navigation. I broke this particular touch screen when I installed it, so having the touchpad was a savior. Mini audio output is run to head unit AUX in, then to speakers. Media application is Winamp with custom skin found on Winamp site. Applications available include Winamp, Firefox, NetStumbler, Google Earth (using USB GPS to be installed later), Skype, and VLC. OS is WindowsXP Custom (called Dell Mini 9 Edition) made using nLite.
Still the best Microsoft OS ever released (even if it's nowhere as good as the competition)...

This differed somewhat from the instructions found on the onmac.net website -- Windows installer told me that it couldn't install on the partition onmac.net said we MUST use partition 2, but that didn't work out. Thankfully I figured it out.
Connecting to a Windows box, and yes i do have a crappy gnome theme ,)
Got to use GNOME on that Work Machine though, no E17 for mex at work =( *cry*

I fired up Photoshop [on rosetta]; to do some photo editing WHILE running a Parallels virtual environment (which as you can see is doing a software update)
Other apps running are: NetNewsWire, Adium, Mail, and Firefox (typical apps)
This is just to prove that virtualization, and the use of non universal binaries on the new MBP still gives satisfactory performance - it's STILL faster than the G4
struggling thru repeated blue-screen deaths today and many freezes (as above) and random restarts as well as all-black start-ups. can't get it done on this Mac, but can't hit up IT until Monday. Should be interesting!

Ci tenevo molto a postare il link per ascoltare questa canzone, dopo che ho sentito la prima volta Chiara Civello mesi or sono, ho recuperato tutti e due i suoi album. Sono cantati prevalentemente in inglese visto che li produce a NY e vive là. Comunque sia è stato amore subito, per il trasporto, per il pathos, per tutto quello che riesce ad esprimere cantando...e non è facile...sono canzoni di una donna che ama, non più una ragazza, non certo canzonette pop. Ogni volta che sento questa voce e questi suoni ne percepisco una profondità, una pesante tranquillità, l'armonia e la fluidità... è musica, sì!...più di molta altra.
Il pezzo è un po' rovinato da una piccola intro che non c'entra niente, comunque sia...Enjoy!
