HAPPY WINDOW WEDNESDAY(S) !!

The various windows in a little old dairy barn (Sennhüttli) are among my favorite local subjects. Besides all the rich weathered-wood textures, the window have flower boxes. The plants and flowers in them are changed regularly from season to season. This window's box was planted as shown at the beginning of winter. The pansies (Stiefmütterchen) wintered nicely (as they often do when planted in the right spot). Here, they are in their full springtime glory. The result is what I have called a "Winter-Spring Window."

Location: The old Sennhüttli ("little dairy barn") in the St Chrischona community. It is the higher of the two settled, areas that comprise the hillside Village of Bettingen BS Switzerland.

Steam rises from thermal pockets along the shore of Whalers Bay, Deception Island, Antarctica. The gap in the caldera wall here is called Neptune's Window.

This is a photo of the grillwork over one of the windows on Bok Tower, known as the Singing Tower, at Bok Tower and Gardens in Lake Wales, Florida.

The Singing Tower is the centerpiece of the gardens. Built on the highest elevation on the site, south of a reflection pool that allows the water to reflect its full image, (see my album) it houses a 60-bell carillon set within the 205-foot-tall Gothic revival and Art Deco tower that was designed by architect Milton B. Medary.

**********Happy Window Wednesday***********

Having a little look through the archives and found this little gem should of had a major tidy up before taking this :)

The last one from the old archives, or unless I find more at some point.

Taken in Etampes in 2012.

El Capricho, in Camillas, Cantabria, is one of the most iconic buildings in north-east Spain.

It was designed by Antoni Gaudi for a local wealthy client and was completed in 1885.

Remarkably, it was abandoned in the late 1930's after the Spanish civil war and remained derelict until 1988, when it was restored and turned into a restaurant.

In 2009, it was opened as a corporately-funded museum.

Happy Window Wednesday!

I love the brightly coloured original umbrellas in this shop.
