This is a photo I took in one of the small side rooms of the central keep of Hurst Castle, near Milford on Sea, Hampshire, UK. I really liked the rough textures and warn colours of the wall framing the window.

behind a city window, a quiet ritual unfolds: art etched into skin, bathed in the glow of a neon sign and layered with the soft distortions of glass. it's a photograph that doesnât just show whatâs there â it captures the invisible tension between creation and observation, privacy and exposure.

Hi' I've not been around much this week although I have been trying to keep up with all of your work.

Little Lily is in 'season' so, we can't do walkies at the moment. I'm keeping the dogs busy at home and playing outside in the garden with ball. The last thing I need is a male dog getting wind of Lily who is only 2.8kg, so I'm keeping her safe. Plus, I have been training... I'm back in full training at the gym as I was pre~covid. I would like to enter some things this year, unsure what yet, Covid depending of course, maybe a mud run or running challenge, but either way, after two years of not being at the gym and training at home its lovely to see humans and get inspiration again.

Here is a new Teapot I bought and was practising High Key with my Nikkor f1.2 manual lens.

Have a happy Tuesday.

I took delivery of a new Nikkor Z lens yesterday the 20mm f1.8, I want to do some astrophotography and it had a good 'write up' for that and landscape. Hoping for some low light pollution. I also want to get back out there and do some landscape photography again. It's raining here so I haven't had chance to use it yet.

in the reflection of a red café window, a fleeting stage unfolds—faces stare from posters, a woman strides mid-step, chairs dissolve into the street like memories fading into glass. inside and outside blur, as if the city were trying to remember itself.

This is a window I capture at the Old Royal Naval College, in Greenwich, London, UK. I noticed the contrasting colours on the wall where dirt and soot have darkened the wall in various ways. This was taken on my now retro point and shoot Sony camera.

Something different for me. Lockdown has offered empty cafe windows which I find quite interesting with the right light 💡

I am almost just as guilty with my phone.

I came upon this window in a boat house in Wiltshire. I really liked the texture on the window frame as well as the surounding wall face.

Baby Cosmo before he could go outside

a beautiful place i visited a few weeks ago, a charming venue, a place where i dreamed about living, a place where time seems to not go anywhere... where farm animals wander around, vineyards line up the hill, white doves fly around...

This photo was taken in Charleston, SC, and shows a window beautifully framed by lush ivy. Charleston is known for its well-preserved historic architecture, which reflects its rich history and cultural heritage. The buildings in Charleston often exhibit elements of Georgian, Federal, and Greek Revival styles, with a strong emphasis on symmetry, proportion, and decorative details.

The ivy-clad window in the photo brings to mind the city's antebellum homes, which frequently feature large windows with shutters, brick facades, and abundant greenery. The ivy adds charm and is a natural cooling system during Charleston's hot summers.

Charleston's architectural legacy dates back to the colonial era, with many buildings surviving the Civil War and hurricanes. The city's commitment to preservation has maintained its historic charm, making it a popular destination for history enthusiasts and architecture lovers.

ODC. Close Up. This cold little cardinal is just a few inches from my window. I had to use my 70-200 so as not to scare him away.

For my class had to do a window light assignment, but no one said you couldn't do it with "night light"! One of my favorite portraits taken up to date of my dear friend Emma!

Excited to do more "Night Window Light" portraits! :)

ODC. Nest. I hope all of the cardinals in my backyard go back to their nests soon. Its very windy and they look cold!

No. 348: How long?

I originally shot this photo during the lock down, I believe May 2020. I wanted to express my longing for a normalcy again, and had originally planned to put tally marks on the window. But I didn't like how it looked at the time and set it aside. A year later I actually got covid and was feeling trapped again, and decided to revisit the photo, putting a handprint instead.

I guess it's interesting...the original purpose of the photo was how long would the lockdown/quarantine be...and now a year later, after my uncle and friend have passed away from Covid, I guess the new question will be how long will it be before people stop dying from covid?

Will it be the new norm? Fear after every positive case? New variants that are constantly more aggressive? New vaccines? When will it stop?

Sorry for the rant, but expressing my thoughts. I am finally healthy again, and can actually taste food! Little things I'm thankful for. One thing this quarantine has done for me is jump start my creativity, and I can't wait to produce and share even more imagery. Fun fact: this photo was shot in my old house. Thank you all, and stay safe.

ODC. Grateful for. I am grateful for the birds (and even the squirrels) right outside of my window. It is fun to watch them and to photograph them - especially in the cold winter.

Another of my wife's pictures snapped while traveling at a fast pace in the car. The GPS took us through a different route and we had never seen the Arch from this view. Quite a difference from the magnificent view when you go to visit and ride to the top of it.

This sunrise is in about the same area with the power lines eliminated and photographed to pick up the large beautiful widespread tree. I took a series of probably 25 pictures about 20 seconds apart and this one nearly looked like the sun was exploding and burning the tree. I loved it, but didn't know how to present it when part of the sun seemed to be missing.
