The signs "Del-Rich Co." and "Neat Stuff" would have us think that there are two businesses here, but no it's a single pawnshop named "Del-Rich Loan & Neat Stuff Antiques." Each pawned antique you buy will come with an implied sad story of the poverty and desperation for which the U.S. is renowned.

The building is from 1901 according to the official documentation of the Davenport Downtown Commercial Historic District, which also identifies the ahistorical surface treatment on the upper floors as parge, applied over the building's original masonry.

"The museum was founded in 1983 by a group of Columbus firefighters who wanted to preserve firefighting history. They formed a non-profit group that same year, the “Columbus Ohio Fire Fighter’s Museum” (our actual legal name). They were able to lease the current building from the city after the station was closed in 1982. It took 20 years of work and fundraising to get the museum open.
