Stained Glass Window at Montsalvat

Eltham, Victoria, Australia

the newly installed casement windows at the top of the stairs...major improvement. The central bar has been rebuilt.

A colorful collection of pots and flowers sits in the sunshine outside a restaurant window. I loved the half-round window reflecting the sky.

This scene has been digitally painted in a watercolor style.

Here's a fairly simple design---this was a custom order, to be used in the front door of a Victorian-era home.

Pacific Bay View Inn, on Jones at O'Farrell St in the Downtown area of San Francisco, California; September 2011. Nikon D7000 and Nikkor 18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 DX AF-S VR lens; a multishot stack series using PhotoAcute Studio. (Contrast: an older, sub-par hotel with somewhat newer aluminum windows. The ubiquitous bricks make me nervous, quake-wise; but this is so common, it shouldn't really. Just part of the city story - like the satellite TV dish perched for a southeastern angle...)

Another charming French window

The primary window and one of two smaller light portals that sit either side. The rest of this building is very straight and square which perhaps makes the curves stand out even more.

St-Séverin, Rue des Prêtres Saint-Séverin, Paris, France

St-Séverin is a beautiful medieval church in the Latin Quarter. It was built between 1450 and 1520, and has a superb range of late 15th Century glass.

In the 1870s and 1880s, another vast range of glass was installed, and is of particular interest because each window depicts the people who paid for it either as a Saint or as a character in a biblical scene. This can sometimes be rather bizarre, as in the scene depicting the beheading of John the Baptist.

One window, the scene of Christ blessing the children, depicts the faces of all those who received their first Holy Communion on the morning of 3rd May 1877.

In 1966, the large windows to the east of the church were filled in with vibrant abstract glass by the artist Jean Bazaine. In the 1960s, St-Séverin had a radical tradition and was one of the centres of the Liturgical Movement.

These are pictures from a almost blown out ruin house just beside the old Telcor buildning in Managua, Nicaragua. I have not been able to find out what function the buildning used to have, but there seems to be some renovation work going on.
