Terezin - The Small Fortress
From 1940 to 1945 the Small Fortress served as the prison of the Prague Gestapo. In 1994 a new permanent exhibition was opened here, devoted to the history of the political prison; it bears witness to the persecution of the Czech nation under the Nazi regime during the Second World War, and records the fates of Czech prisoners transferred to other concentration camps within the Nazi German Reich.
I see this van all the time as I drive by Echo Park Lake. In fact, I've taken photos of it on several occasions, but this was the first one I've been happy with.
Those windows are better than some of ones on our house.

Notre Dame window in Brugges. Unfortunately it seems that Brugges has a construction competition on at the moment. Everything seems to be covered or scaffolded.
It took two centuries (13th-15th) to build the church. Among the many art treasures of the Onze-Lieve-Vrouwekerk is a beautiful Carrara marble Madonna and Child sculpture by Michelangelo.
This statue, made in 1504, was the only one of Michelangelo's works to leave Italy in his lifetime and is today one of the few that can be seen outside Italy. It was bought by a Bruges merchant, Jan van Mouskroen, and donated to the church in 1506.
The church also contains a painting of the Crucifixion of Christ by Anthony van Dyck and a rococo extravaganza of a pulpit, designed by Bruges artist Jan Antoon Garemijn.
Also impressive are the side-by-side bronze tomb sculptures of the Duke of Burgundy, Charles the Bold, who died in 1477, and his daughter, Mary of Burgundy, who died at age 25 after falling from her horse in 1482.
A windowpane under the tombs allows you to view the 13th- and 14th-century graves of priests.

Probably installed c1840, and possibly commissioned from Evans of Shrewsbury, along with the larger window immediately below it.

I noticed the sun illuminating the windows of this small shrimp boat a bright orange. I just couldn't resist setting up the camera and tripod to allow the setting sun to burst through the window and produce the start burst. I'm quite happy with the way this image turned out, in fact it's one of my favorite images I've ever created, as of today anyway.

I honestly hadn't planned on posting two entries for this week's Window Wednesday. Since I was playing with my camera in my room around 18:35 today, though, I happened to take this and decided that I might as well post it up. :3 (In fact, the last 10 or so photos were all taken in my room.)
(Yep, my bedside desk is messy, but it's neater compared to a few days ago.)
This was taken at the school's library. There were these huge windows and ancient books. Great to have a model in town.

St Andrew's church at Cleeve Prior is marked by an elegant west tower dating from the 15th century though the rest of the building dates back at least two centuries earlier. It consists of nave and chancel and a simple south transept chapel.
There is some notable glass, mostly Victorian but also some from the Arts & Crafts movement. The church is happily normally open and welcoming to visitors.
