I got lucky this week when a storm came across Lake Huron as the sun was rising over the windturbines near Kincardine.
Okay seriously, what's up with Altamont Pass? Why are none of the windmills in operation? This place always seems to be crazy windy, yet I haven't seen them move in years. They were always running when I was a kid!

These contraptions (17 of them) provide enough power for 30,000 homes and 5% power for the whole of Canakkale.

They are HUGE. Passed these on the way to Vegas. WAY longer than a normal 18 wheeler. Beautiful too.
