Something caught the attention of the Northern Hawk Owl as he was perched on the branch, for a brief moment he glanced up to take a look and that's when I snapped the shutter.

Northern Gannet (Morus)
I had gotten a Juvenile last year, so I made it my personal goal to see and photograph an adult. Every time I go down to the shore I search for them flying out over the ocean. This was the trip to make my goal come true. There were over a dozen flying up and down and a few made it close enough to get some shots. Island Beach State Park, Lanoka Harbor, NJ.

Raise your voice little one so mama can hear you! This 2 day old Canada Goose Gosling was taking a few sips of water when it lost sight of it's mother, it let out a few rather funny honks, which was returned by mama's rather large honk.

This is the third GHO that I have come across this year. Wissahickon Trail, Wissahickon Park PA.
Through the thicket a Female Baltimore Oriole perches in wait for her mate to return, to continue building the nest they have started to construct in a near by tree.
"Yes you did little gosling, but a quick dip in the water will clean you right up!" This Canada Goose Gosling and a few of it's siblings found a mud puddle in which to play in, this one pictured here isn't as bad as some of the others.
Against the shadows on a lone branch, a Yellow-bellied Flycatcher is perched. Photographed in relatively low light, I was able to catch this small bird before it flew off.
Red Bull does not give you wings nor did it help the Female Great Blue Heron to achieve hers. She had quite the time trying to balance herself on the flimsy tree limb and as you can plainly see the spreading of the wings didn't help much.
New Britain Pa.

The sound that came out of this Great Blue Heron did not resemble any Christmas Carol that I recall, but perhaps it was music to the ears of another heron. The title is a play on words from the Christmas song, The Huron Christmas Carol.
(The "Huron Carol" (or "Twas in the Moon of Wintertime") is a Canadian Christmas hymn (Canada's oldest Christmas song), written probably in 1642 by Jean de Brébeuf, a Jesuit missionary at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons in Canada.)
