I wonder if bonfires added to the light pollution on this shot from yesterday, Guy Fawkes night.

Again this was taken on a shoot, with my flickr friend Andrew Buck. I have entered the "Who are you" with Nikon Competition, please vote for me here

I felt like this horse stared into my soul and answered the question for himself. My answer would be I am still a work in progress and figuring it out. I know what I stand for and value - family, beauty, truth, humor, and passion. I know what traits I despise - greed, envy, pride, dishonesty and manipulation. I know the areas I need to improve upon and am working on them one day at a time.

Today is a numbers day for me - 26, 30, 2,017,285 and 0.

26 - today is my oldest daughter's birthday. Being a mother is one of my favorite parts of who I am.

30 - my high school reunion is this weekend. I am not planning on going. Let's just say some things don't need to be relived.

2,017,285 - I have one photo on Flickr that has been viewed a crazy number of times. No clue on why this photo gets so much exposure - www.flickr.com/photos/28726735@N08/16944349157 If you have seen it somewhere please do share...

0 - the number of blog posts I have actually posted. I am still unsure if that is my direction...

So, do you know who you are? I am still a work in progress.

Came out of the camera like this.

Herd, at lunch time. Alentejo, southeast of Portugal.

I’ve found a 52 Week challenge from an article....that I may, or may not, complete. I’m not very good at following a set of rules, I tend to loose interest. It will be a miracle if I manage to do it, lol. I’m not submitting it to any group, just doing it for myself.

Anyway.....Week 1: Self Portrait - Take a photo that tells us who you are, without actually showing your face.

A shot from our hotel window on our San Francisco trip. For those who keep asking, I did put up a step by step faux tilt shift tutorial up on the blog. I did find out recently I will be heading to Tennessee on a trip in Oct...I love going to new places!

Owls, with their piercing eyes and silent flight, often seem to ask, "Who are you?" These mysterious birds of prey, renowned for their wisdom and nocturnal habits, possess an aura of enigmatic curiosity. With their ability to see in the dark and turn their heads nearly 270 degrees, they appear to be guardians of the night, forever questioning the secrets that unfold in the darkness. Owls' distinctive calls, haunting and hauntingly beautiful, seem to beckon us to delve deeper into the mysteries of the natural world, inviting us to explore and understand the hidden aspects of our surroundings. In their gaze and presence, owls challenge us to reflect upon our own identities and the profound interconnectedness we share with the wild world they inhabit.

Back from my shot Tennessee trip. What a beautiful state. While there I was able to hook up with Ian. He let borrow his 50mm 1.4G and his 14-24mm (more on this lens later). This shot was taken in the moring while testing out the 1.4G. I must say this lens is a lot better than the 50mm 1.4D. It focuses really, slow so for kids or fast moving object it might not be ideal but as far as image quality wide open it is much better. No specially post processing on this image. A little curve adjustment and slight WB tweak.

Taken nearby my home. As you can imagine, I wish I could take home all of them (except for the shepherd!).

Thanks in advance for visits and comments!

I woke up in a Soho doorway

A policeman knew my name

He said "You can go sleep at home tonight

If you can get up and walk away"...

Here is another shot from my San Francisco set that is up on the blog.

Also if you can, spread the word on the "Phoot Camp Benefit" page to help LaurenLemon. Last week while sleeping someone broke into her apartment and stole all her photography gear. If you ever have had something stolen you know what a sickening feeling that can be. Or you can just paypal me..for ever donation I get, I'll send Lauren a short e-mail saying how bad that sucks for her :)

The shot above was taken several months back when I was in Gray TN. It's was 3 exposures combined in a plugin called LR/Enfuse. To read more about this plugin head over to the Blog. I know it's a little late for a baseball picture. I also just want to say to everyone Happy Thanksgivings! Hope everyone (at least here in the US) has a nice long weekend.

My brother bought me this for my birthday when it was first released and I've recently purchased this vinyl re-issue (great LP btw)

Top: DeForestRanger AKA Snark

Bottom: Dolmansaxlil AKA Jabberwock

DeForestRanger and I have started a diptych project. Together, Jabberwock (Dolmansaxlil) & Snark (DeForestRanger) seek to offer their unique perspectives on a common theme each week. One of the pair will choose the theme for the upcoming week and each will shoot her interpretation. The images will then be combined into a diptych and posted here for your viewing pleasure.

Week 1: "Since Jabberwock and Snark come from very different worlds, it seems fitting that the first assignment in this new project should illustrate just that. This week, take a photo that illustrates who you are. Interpret this as broadly or literally as you like, but the photo must be in landscape orientation."

If you want to read Jabberwock and Snark's thoughts on their individual images, you can head over to jabberwockandsnark.gimblemimsy.com

Update: I've made this small animation based on the above image

Just a joke. Bless our Lord! I took this photo from a plane and

also made the rough sketch. I had tons of ideas for the sentence

on the paper, it was really difficult to make a choice... =D

I still wonder... who are we? What's the real purpose of our

existence? Love and happiness are the 2 main words that

come to my mind. But after? Any answers?

See THIS VIDEO showing 18 Pencil Vs Camera images in

progress (with a small animation and some original music).

Limerick

A poem by Peter S. Quinn

There´s a strange man called Cloud

He lives above the crowd,

We thought him God

For he was odd,

But he's just and old man and proud!

Another misc shot I took on my San Fransisco trip. On my iphone i use the app hipstamatic. I read last week you can open up the app file and pull out the effect files to use in photoshop. This is what I did for this photo. The light leak on the bottom right was from the Hipstamatic app. Maybe I should have posted a "how-to" on the blog.

On a side note...if you have facebook and have the time...throw a vote my way here
