Kinnaree welcome the weary traveler on the main road into Prachaup Khiri Khan.

Wikipedia: The kinnari, (usually spelt 'kinnaree' as noted below) (Thai: กินรี) in Thai literature originates from India, but was modified to fit in with the Thai way of thinking. The Thai kinnari is depicted as a young woman wearing an angel-like costume. The lower part of the body is similar to a bird, and should enable her to fly between the human and the mystical worlds. The most popular portrayal of kinnaree in Thai art probably the golden figures of kinnaree adorned the Wat Phra Kaew in Bangkok, which describe a half-maiden, half-goose figure.

Canoe Bridge

Southwest, False Creek

Vancouver, BC

Canada

Canoe bridge was designed in the shape of a canoe and spans Jarvis Inlet and is located in the 2010 Winter Olympics athletes' village.

Appropriately named, this walk bridge was built on the waterfront of False Creek - well known for Kayaking, Canoeing & Dragon Boating.

The bridge was designed with the environment in mind. The bridge deck is made up of closely spaced slats that allow plenty of sunlight to shine through. This design minimizes bridge shadows on the water below, so that aquatic plants and creatures aren't affected by the darkness.

Happy Wednesday!

A friend comes over to meet the newest addition to the herd. A probably about a week old this little one was the highlight of a recent photography outing.

I love these windy days, when if you stay long enough you know the sun will reappear between the clouds. There's a wonderful calm just standing and waiting, all alone as the world seems to be flying all around you. Welcome the sun is by Richard Hawley.

A rare lockdown venture out with the camera.

To be honest we were walking the dogs, so how nice was it to stumble upon a flock of some twenty, of these beauties.

Wonderful early 20th Century architecture in a nearby town.

I too live in a house with steep gables and I find these homes around West Michigan so appealing.

Thank you so much for your visit!

Just to wish all my Flickr friends a wonderful 2012 and may you greet the New Year with hope and optimism!

Thank you to all of you who have stood by me this year and given me support when I have been on and off Flickr.

I was delighted to meet some of my contacts in 2011 and I am looking forward to meeting a few more in person before too long.
