Back on the road this evening, but thankful for the few days home with family. A wonderful new change there with the arrival of my grandson, feeling pretty blessed. Season in change and I'm looking forward to winter, but already missing autumn.

There is an interesting Riddle that explains how Welcome Washington got its name. The US Post Office opened an office there in 1889. John Welcome Riddle was the very first Post Master. Evidence of a community is sparse today. Evidence of salmon and eagles is plenty.

Years ago I enjoyed driving up to the top of this hill and taking photos of the horses, cows, mules and donkeys until I discovered their purpose.
It made me so sad I never returned.

Hopefully there will be no 'back to normal' in this year
but the beginning of a BIG CHANGE to the better!
Otherwise global warming, the loss of biodiversity, new pandemics and the destruction of all our vital, natural resources will proceed far too fast ...
An immediate measure would be if the price of every product also included the cost of its ecological impact during production and transport.
This would put the brakes on excessive consumerism and all producers would have to think about more environmentally friendly and fairer production methods if they still want to sell anything.
