The jaguar (Panthera onca) is the largest cat in tropical America and in the world the third largest cat after the tiger and lion.
The jaguar's present range extends from the U.S.-Mexico border across much of Central America and south to Paraguay and northern Argentina, particularly in the Amazon basin.
This spotted cat most closely resembles the leopard physically, although it is usually larger and of sturdier build and its behavioural and habitat characteristics are closer to those of the tiger.
The rosettes on a jaguar's coat are larger, fewer in number, usually darker, and have thicker lines and small spots in the middle that the leopard lacks.
While dense rainforest is its preferred habitat, the jaguar will range across a variety of forested and open terrains. It is strongly associated with the presence of water and is notable, along with the tiger, as a feline that enjoys swimming.
The jaguar is largely a solitary, opportunistic, stalk-and-ambush predator at the top of the food chain. Jaguars are powerfully built, with large, square jaws. Jaguars have lean bodies and muscular limbs. They are built for power, not speed, although they can run briefly. Height at the shoulder may be up to 75 cm. Body length is 130 to 190 cm long with a tail of 45 to 75 cm. Jaguars weigh between 65 and 125 kg. Base coat colors range from pale yellow to reddish brown, with black, rosette-shaped spots.
They may also be black (a melanistic form), but then, despite being the same species, are often called panthers. These jaguars have a base coat color of black with black spots that are usually dimly visible against the black background. Black jaguars are more common in forested habitats.

The Red Lines of Red Flame's tiny flowers serve to lead insects to the nourishing products deep inside the corolla. Red Flame flourishes in tropical shade. Indeed, by noon most flowers have fallen. Here they're still attached to their dark green plants. But fallen is that scarlet seed from the shading Bead Tree above our flowers. Those very hard seeds are still used to fashion beady necklaces; given their consistant weights they were once apparently used for weighing in the gold trade.
The Devil's Den is a dolmen burial chamber on Fyfield Down near Marlborough, Wiltshire, England. The burial chamber stands upon a low mound that was originally part of a long barrow understood to have been 230 feet in length. The large, chunky capstone is said to weigh 17 tons or more and to have at least two cup markings on it.
While waiting for the 11 pm Tilden job, I was surprised to see a Weigher job round the curve and head for the mine. I had originally decided to start heading back South that afternoon, but I caught a glimpse of the C30-7s being moved around the shops. Since I had only caught them once, I was hoping they would be on the 11 pm Tilden, although I wasn't certain whether or not they would even run one since there were no more ships on the docks or scheduled for the next day. Well, I decided to set up at the rock cut anyway, and after a good two hours of wait I heard a horn coming from Eagle Mills. I'm no expert in identifying horns, but it sounded a lot like the AC44CWs. A few minutes later, however, there sounded a fouled horn that could only have been from the Green units. The AC44s must have taken a hill job to the docks and another hour later the odd horn sounded again, followed by a steady rumble and ultimately the arrival of this train. Surprisingly, it was a Weigher job and no Tilden ran that night. The power were also not the C30-7s, but rather the last pair of U30Cs in regular service anywhere in the country (most likely anyways). In the meantime the fog had gotten ridiculously thick, which ended up making for some light beams and a nice feel. Subsequently there was no Weigher Job the next morning. Lucky for me, the Greens ran this oddly timed Weigher as that's usually done by the Bluebirds.
I acquired these scales recently, I'd been looking for some for a while and managed to strike a deal with the seller.
I had this idea but most of my backdrops are fairly small so more suited to flat lay so I feel it's a little cramped.
I've totally lost my confidence in my photography so I really wanted to crack on and do something with the scales. I left the dust on them to add to the authenticity.

The African Fish Eagle is a large bird of prey found throughout sub-Saharan Africa. It is known for its distinctive appearance and impressive hunting skills.
Adult African Fish Eagles have a brown body with a white head and tail, and a hooked yellow beak. They have powerful talons and large wings, with a wingspan that can reach up to 2 meters. They typically weigh between 2 and 4 kilograms.
African Fish Eagles are often seen near bodies of water, such as lakes and rivers, where they hunt for fish. They use their sharp eyesight to locate prey from a high perch, such as a tree or rock, and then swoop down to catch the fish with their talons. They are also known to steal food from other birds, such as ospreys and pelicans.
African Fish Eagles are monogamous and form long-term pair bonds. They build large nests in trees near the water, which they use for breeding and raising their young. Females lay 1-3 eggs, which hatch after about 6 weeks. Both parents take turns incubating the eggs and caring for the chicks.
Overall, the African Fish Eagle is a majestic bird of prey that plays an important role in the ecosystems of sub-Saharan Africa.

The Leiden Weigh House (De Waag in Dutch) is a Rijksmonument located on Aalmarkt street (nr. 21).
It was designed by Pieter Post around 1657 and opened in 1659.For centuries, merchants came here to weigh and trade a variety of goods. In addition to being a weigh house, the Leiden Weigh House has hosted a variety of engagements and stately celebrations over the centuries. Notably, Govert Bidloo converted an attic room into an autopsy room to study the human body.
The weigh house was in use as an actual weigh house until 1972, when the last unit of cheese was sold. Nowadays, the building serves as a cultural monument, houses a bar and restaurant.
I’ve always wanted to get a photo of this weigh station early in the morning, but I wanted clouds in the background and today was the day.

Weighed down with a unit ethanol train and extra DDG cars, this Council Bluffs freight lumbers into Newton. The job passed the beautiful ex-Rock Island Depot. The train has 2 GEs in a 1x1 DP setup with a GP38 barking for all its might as a kicker. The depot was built in 1912 and was shut down for passenger service in 1980. I believe it is a business now and was getting some TLC on this Sunday morning.

The historic capital of Normandy, Rouen is a famous old French city commonly known as the “city with a hundred bells chiming in the air”. With numerous cathedrals, this beautiful city exudes the charms of traditional French culture. Situated north of France on the River Seine, the capital city of Normandy is well known for its Notre Dame Cathedral and the city where Joan of Arc was trialled. Today, the city of Rouen is a vibrant city with old and new attractions to welcome its visitors.
The key attraction for Rouen, this Roman Catholic Cathedral is the important icon for Rouen with its majestic and grand architecture. The cathedral houses the tomb of Richard the Lionheart, who was the King of England. Located in the center of the city, it is one of the most visited attractions in Rouen. Magnificent light shows illuminate the cathedral at night, a definite must see for the city.
A church was already present at the location in the late 4th century, and eventually a cathedral was established in Rouen as in Poitiers. It was enlarged by St. Ouen in 650, and visited by Charlemagne in 769. All the buildings perished during a Viking raid in the 9th century. The Viking leader, Rollo, founder of the Duchy of Normandy, was baptised here in 915 and buried in 932. His grandson, Richard I, further enlarged it in 950. St. Romain's tower was built in 1035. Construction on the current building began in the 12th century in Early Gothic style for Saint Romain's tower, front side porches and part of the nave. The cathedral was burnt in 1200. Others were built in High Gothic style for the mainworks: nave, transept, choir and first floor of the lantern tower in the 13th century; side chapels, lady chapel and side doorways in the 14th century. Some windows are still decorated with stained glass of the 13th century, famous because of a special cobalt blue colour, known as "the blue from Chartres". The north transept end commenced in 1280.
The cathedral has actually been destroyed and rebuilt several times before.
The Renaissance spire was destroyed by lightning in 1822. A new one was rebuilt in Neo-Gothic style, but of cast iron instead of wood. The cathedral was named the tallest building (the lantern tower with the cast iron spire of the 19th century) in the world (151 m) from 1876 to 1880. In the 20th century, during World War II, the cathedral was bombed in April 1944 by the British Royal Air Force. Seven bombs fell on the building, narrowly missing a key pillar of the lantern tower, but damaging much of the south aisle and destroying two rose windows A second bombing by the U.S. Army Air Force (before the Normandy Landings in June 1944) burned the oldest tower, called the North Tower or Saint-Romain Tower. During the fire the bells melted, leaving molten remains on the floor. In 1999, during Cyclone Lothar, a copper-clad wooden turret, which weighed 26 tons, broke and fell partly into the church and damaged the choir.

Traditional mechanical signalling is still very much in evidence on the secondary Wolsztyn-Leszno line, and the Nowawies Mochy station area is no exception. With the extraordinarily long signal pull for the signalman, especially for the signal protecting the northern approach to this country station, hefty balance weights are necessary, the cabin situated just behind me in this scene. On 20th January 2020, Wolsztyn shed's solitray serviceable 2-6-2, Ol49-59, works away from its station stop, the 77544 11:48 Wolsztyn to Leszno passenger service.
