It was great that Jean Paul made the trip up to Tire to meet us on Christmas Day and to show us around the magnificent weekly market in Tire. He spent a lot of the morning chatting to Fred whilst I followed up behind, poking my camera all over the place...

At Kunduli weekly tribal market in the south-west of Orissa.
Kunduli Weekly Market is the region's largest produce market.
Weekly markets in Koraput including Kunduli market not only serve the purpose of buying and selling the commodities, the weekly markets also serve as a platform to exchange people’s
ideas, their views and share news of their respective villages.
Many different tribes gather here once a week to buy and sell, gossip with other villages, arrange marriages and generally have a good day.
Oddly enough, with the tree behind, it almost looks like a part of it. It's carciofi season. There's also a basket of fave beans which we enjoy eating raw with pecorino cheese, bread & honey.
On eve of Christmas, these tribal Celebrates Feast lunch together at village Surhi inside Achanakmar Sanctuary, Chhattisgarh.

Local grown fresh Garlic, the perfect quality adds a special "French color" to food. Often used in French cuisine and one of the well known French delicacies. In taste much better than other import garlic (the kind that smells so very strong). Most of the French don't sell or buy a bulb but a whole string.

The weekly market at the Place de Cornieres, with many stalls selling local goods at the 13th-century village square. The square has always been a place of commerce and trade, in a way so little has changed in time. The market is not that crowded at all, an excellent moment to enjoy a nice French market and lots of local grown or produced products for sale.

Monpazier: Marche de France
The small village Monpazier, a 13th-century bastide town, founded in 1285 and built by King Edward I of England for trade, commerce and justice. It almost didn't change in the past centuries, a medieval town square lined with an arched arcade, a 16th-century covered market, three of the original six rampared city gates remain and many other traces of medieval history. This picturesque small village is one of the "Les Plus Beaux Villages de France" villages, said to be one of the most atractive in southwest France.

Thursday is my "market day".
A friend of mine sells fresh food, she´s got a farm with her old parents and three sons.
It´s a pleasure to buy all that healthy stuff...
