Look what I did this weekend!
I got the idea from here and made a few modifications to the design. I stuck with the lined notebook, and my edges are curved; for glue I used a 50/50 mix of Elmer's and water instead of PVA glue.
The whole thing took about 3 hours Saturday night, and I let it dry overnight before doing some polishing this afternoon.
Another one of my Utata projects had me out about town looking for a reason to photograph a fire hydrant. There were several mildly interesting candidates, but this one stuck with me and so I've put it up to share with my Flickr friends.

edge of the Grangettesornithological reserve: I can see it from home, just a fringe at the end of the lake. I'll go back again when it's warmer, to see the birds.
The mountains are further away than they seem.
We're pleased with how it turned out. We still need to give it a few coats of clear varnish to make it indestructible, but it's already much more sturdy.

Half the group had lunch here after our hike.
I doubt that many people who walk past this have any idea what it is. We've considered trying to gather water from this well to use for our home brewed beer. Sounds like a lot of work.
Putting in a hydrocabin in our bathroom, it looked easy on the paper, but oh boy........it was narrow between the wall and the cabine.........
Spirit Animal, on my morning run at a very humid day.
I suppose the snail felt gorgeous. I on my part felt like a snail that day, as if my feed were glued to the ground.
This is what the completely finished bedroom suite looks like! It has a very tropical, vacation, but handmade air about it. I love the way it came together in the end. :)
I was walking along South Beach in Troon this afternoon and couldn't help but notice this couple picking up plastic rubbish.
A great job done and I'm sure this will be a project that they will carry forward to the weekend!!
