Referred to as Thimphu’s Weekend Market, the Centenary Farmers’ Market established in 2008 to provide farmers a permanent place to sell their agricultural produce and its products. The Royal Government of Bhutan established the existing infrastructure as part of National Celebrations of three significant milestones in the country’s history:
1. 100 years of Monarchy
2. the Coronation of His Majesty the Fifth King
3. the First Democratic Election.
The Weekend Market is located on the western bank of the Wang Chu (chu means river in Bhutanese) to the north of Changlimithang Stadium. Vendors start reaching the market on Thursday, and It is open for business from Friday until late Sunday night. Thimphu’s weekend market is the main source of fresh produce since there are no big supermarkets.

The Webb Schools Alumni Weekend on Saturday, Oct. 21, 2023 had alumni visiting classes, going on tours, attending the lunch, football fame, class reunions, chapel service and 50 year pinning. Alumni also enjoyed the seeing the observatory, football game, the bbq lunch, alumni dinner, awards, and the overall fun of being back on campus and reuniting with other alums, faculty and staff.
