Every Memorial weekend I like to attend this. They do a tribute to the Veterans and have them come out to do a dance with them. Some of them are Indians themselves and some are not. Some are really old and it takes 2 Indians to walk them around. They hold the flags and honor them with song and dance.
Lots of great costumes to be seen this weekend with dollops of goth , steampunk , pirates , and even shades of Lewis Carroll .

With the recent heatwave abruptly over, DB Cargo's Class 60, 60040 "The Territorial Army Centenary" eases the loaded limestone hoppers from Tunstead into Lostock Gralam as it slows the train down ready for the reverse at Northwich station and shunt back into the Lostock Works.
The Regata, unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September 1983, was developed from the pre facelift Ritmo and utilised almost all the mechanicals, although the wheelbase was stretched slightly.
A conventional four door three box design, it bore very little external resemblance to the original Ritmo, although it hinted strongly at the look of the facelift of 1982 for that car.
The engines offered were also similar, being the 1301 cc inline four rated at 68 hp (50 kW) (Regata 70) and the 1498 cc model rated at 82 hp (60 kW) (Regata 85).
Both of these were SOHC engines. A DOHC 1585 cc inline four rated at 100 hp (74 kW) (Regata 100) was also available as were two SOHC diesels, a 1714 cc straight four rated at 58 hp (43 kW) (Regata D) and a 1929 cc version rated at 65 hp (48 kW) (Regata DS), the latter of which was added in 1984.
The Regata Weekend estate was introduced in November 1984. The Weekend replaced the 131 Panorama, which had been kept in production alongside the Regata. The Weekend featured a folding rear bumper, enabling easier access to the load area and doubling as a seat capable of supporting 150 kg when folded down.

The three bright stars of the Summer Triangle and the Milky Way were setting over a camp on mountain jinfo, Chongqing province of China. The yellow glows above the camp is the light dome from nearby city. The faint green theme all cross the horizon is airglow, natural emission of the Earth upper atmosphere.
Camping under the Milky Way with friends at weekends is the best way to reduce pressure from daily city life. Crazy talk and thoughts with no limits in this starry sky are the most relax moment.

Got some big yard work done this weekend! Cut down a few trees, split firewood, hauled sticks, cleaned the yard, and mowed leaves! Well, my husband did all of the hard work while I mostly laid on the ground and took photos!

Trackworkers labored over the weekend to restore the roadbed along the B/C line between 110th and 103rd Street, replacing the old roadbed with newly poured concrete, new rails and new track hardware. Once completed, the improvements to the roadbed will provide a smoother, quieter ride through the area. This photo shows track supervisors eyeing the rail to make sure the track is straight. Negative was scanned to SD card in a JUMBL scanner unit; Image was processed & finished in Flickr.
I wasn't sure if I'd manage to dress yesterday, I have taken a long weekend off, preceeding next weeks bank holiday one. I had some mechanical work to do, las time I tried I pushed myself into PEM and ended up having two days off, so this time I planned ahead, just in case, but this time I had it worked out properly. So I got that done yesterday, pacing myself pretty well, so today I feel up to some girl time. And hopefuly tomorrow and Tuesday as well. Just a head an shoulders today with my ladies keeping an eye on me. .
This is the general gist of what I carry in my weekend bag while I go take pictures in the city or elsewhere. I always seem to carry a lot of stuff...

A regular sight on the Thirlmere loop line, preserved steam locomotive 3001 stomps up the grade from Picton to Thirlmere with a train full of enthusiastic passengers.
Weekend train rides on the loop line from Thirlmere are a weekly occurance year round, although they typically run between Thirlmere and Buxton (the second station south of Thirlmere). During March 2024, this section of the line was closed for a major rebuild to ensure it's longevity, so the train rides for museum visitors instead went towards Picton (junction with the main Melbourne to Sydney line).
