South Shore 2005 spends the weekend at Goff. This is between Gary Metro and Miller in Gary, Indiana. Too bad 2005 isn't more mobile. It's so close to the beach.
After the sun had dipped, Ex Taff Vale Railway O2 0-6-2T no.85 brings 14:25 down Keighley-Oxenhope train round the curve approaches Mytholmes Tunnel (built in 1892 by MR).
Fresh photos, taken this past weekend! It's been warm and sunny, there was a lot of work to be done - planting potatoes and clearing dry trees. It's never boring in the countryside, even if you move to a big city. :D
Taken with Pentax K100D Super digital camera, with smc Pentax-DA 18–55mm F3.5–5.6 AL lens. Slightly cropped to fix unlevel horizon.
Six megapixels from the CCD sensor means there's not a lot of data in the first place, and it's not a high-quality data to work with – dynamic range is narrow and noise starts to creep up quickly. But the colours are nice! I've dug up this ancient DSLR to see how outdated it is. It feels quite outdated, from the small viewfinder, and sluggish operation, to the use of AA batteries. Fun camera to use from time to time, but definitely not for daily use.
I´m on holiday in the next week, maybe i can upload some holiday impressions, wish you all a very nice weekend! :)

Manning the NIHBS (Native Irish Honeybee Society nihbs.org) stall with John Thorpe the Public Relations Offocer of NIHBS. ...and Paula did a lot of the organising and support for us too.
...and selling some honey too.
Great fun, but glad to have it done. I'll sleep well tonight! I am literally hoarse now from talking so much. So many great conversations about bees. ...And I sold almost all the honey I brought both days.

I am looking after our friend's dog while he is away. He's an old and a very shy dog, a Cocker Spaniel and Poodle mix. I defrost his homemade pattie which looks like some meat and rice combo, put it in his bowl and change his water. He has a doggie door to let himself out. The only way I knew the dog was there is afterwards I found the bowl empty. It seemed mean to feed him and then leave him in the empty house, so I went in the garden and had a rest from my dog caring task. A short time later the dog came outside and sat under a chair. As long as I stayed in the hammock he stayed outside with me. When I got up, he ran in the house. So, I stayed in the hammock and we enjoyed each other's wary company.
Spent this weekend touring the area with a friend. I am glad I stopped at this spot for a picture even if the mosquitos were very bad.

This diorama is inspired by the Ligurian Riviera where I occasionally spend the weekend. This creation is an extension of a moc made in spring 2017. The main reason for this change came from the idea of making a summer display in a shop window in my village. The first version consisted of 4 bases, so I wanted to add two more bases to give the diorama more dimension and in the future I decided that I will also make a lighthouse to complete the marine theme. From this derives the name of the restaurant "Al Faro" which is the new building on the right.
The diorama does not incorporate particular techniques, I deliberately decided to make it simple but at the same time fun and full of cartoons with various characters who carry out the life of the sea, such as playing on the beach, having an ice cream, taking a relaxing walk on the seafront, etc. ..
All the buildings, even if small, have internal fittings visible from the back. This moc makes me want to go to the sea and go out to enjoy some healthy relaxation after all the long lockdown brought about by Covid-19.
